FA Cup 2023-24 FA Cup R1 Draw

Seeing as my season ticket has been sold I won’t go..
Just logged on to buy and all our seats have been sold, so probably give it a miss now. I thought a reserved seat was one of the perks of being a ST holder......

EDIT - msg'd other ST holders and they said "Buy in the SSU, about level with the edge of the penalty area". Logged back in to find the SSU isn't open at that end! No mention of that in the blurb, just says "Prices have been reduced in all areas with tickets for this game available to purchase online, in person, and over the telephone (01865 337533) from 12:00 on Saturday 21st October". I don't know who decided which areas of the ground to open, but has to be one of the worst splits of fans you could have come up with.

Yes, very little of the East Stand seems to be open, just the central block - so I couldn't buy my normal seat. A chap who sits near me wanted to buy three tickets, one for him and two for young lads he was going to bring (and hopefully encourage to be future OUFC supporters). He is a season ticket holder, but because they aren't he has to wait until after the cheap initial ST deal has passed to buy them to make sure he can get three seats together. Seems like OUFC are trying to act like a 'big' club already by disrespecting the FA Cup and pissing off their season ticket holders into the bargain. (Slightly joking!)

As I mentioned it is the same split for the TinPot trophy games. A very quick straw poll of other SSU season ticket holders revealed that NONE were aware of the ticket set up. Yes, it's cheap but, it's hardly fair to not even inform season ticket holders of the limitations and the non-observance of the perceived arrangement.
On the subject of it being the norm that season ticket holder seats are reserved, I checked the small print and the club have not broken any obligations towards holders.

3.3.4 At the sole discretion of the Club and subject to the relevant area(s) of the Ground being open, Season Ticket holders’ nominally allocated seat for League Matches may for an advertised time period be reserved for Season Ticket holders purchasing a ticket(s) for home cup Matches or play-off Matches within the advertised time period. Where a purchase is not made within any such advertised time period there is no guarantee a Ticket for the allocated seat or any other Ticket will be available.

What's this crap of not opening up all areas in the stadium for the Maidenhead game?

Who should we email to vent our displeasure of not being able to sit in our normal season ticket seats?

Genuinely never knew season ticket seats were so important to people.
I like to keep the same seat as i have some problems and like to sit near a friend in east stand not sure if thats possible at this game but still will go anyway and just hope i feel ok during the game, just cant understand why they are not opening the entire east stand as its only the side parts that they have closed

Unless they are going to put up netting, I can't see a problem with a little "migration" into blocks 17/20 of the East Stand - maybe we'll do that....

I like chatting about the game to the people I sit with every week. It's a significant part of the enjoyment of home games for me. It's also not just that. It is disappointing that the club thinks that a large proportion of the supporter base isn't interested in the FA Cup and that they are unable to generate such interest. If they are equating it to the tin pot trophy, I think (or at least very much hope) they are wrong.

Edit - I have of course bought a ticket, as I think the FA Cup is still an important competition and it's another Saturday watching my team, no matter where I am sat! Anything has to be better than that play-off semi when we were all sat 4 seats apart!

They don't run them for the tinpot cup midweek so I doubt they will for this game, only just over a quarter of the stadium is open.
I would hope though, that for a Saturday game, with the club trying to put emphasis on public transport for the new stadium, that they would run something.

Even just saying that they're NOT running would be nice.

Ive gotta miss the 1st round FAcup match (working in Newquay)

Maidenhead is less that 30 mins awat- Itd never be a sell out, nonetheless disrespecting the FA CUP by OUFC is IMO out of order

I always go with the same people and after trying various spots we have good seats that we like. It’s a bit annoying having to coordinate new seats somewhere else - but not really a big deal. It’s a shame we can’t try to promote the game more rather than assume no one will be interested

Does it REALLY matter if you cant have your regular seat just for one game, i have not got my regular seat for the game as that area is closed in the East Stand, am i going to sit at home and cry, not likely.
Get to the game and support the team even if it is only little Maidenhead

The block where I sit in the east stand isn't available so I will try a different seat ( I'm not going in the south stand) 😃

That's the spirit.

There are other seats you know. Mine isn't even available to buy, but I'll be going, and sometimes something like this is a chance to see the game from a different view and get another perspective.
Quite right @Colin B however, those who cannot purchase their season ticket seat and do take up the option to sit elsewhere, may well then deprive that season ticket holder that normally sits in that seat. I go to games with Mrs L and we sit together, to find two adjacent seats shouldn't be difficult but, what about families, groups etc. There will be no family area open. Will the sensory room be available? What about the wheelchair accessible area? (that's in the North Stand ever since the lift in the South stand was deemed unsafe)
