Dot Counting Blackpool 10k - Oct 21st

Attendance tracking
Or give away teams the minimum requirement (1250) tickets and sell out the rest of the ground with home fans.

We only give 1600 now don't we? The problem is the need for segregation in the north stand meaning we lose around 600 seats to segregation.

We can add more fans by reducing the away fan allocation, moving over the netting and that will add an extra 400 home fans. The issue we will always have while at the breeze block is that the concourse design under the stand. I don’t think this was ever truly thought out properly and something that will need proper thought when it comes to the new stadium.

There were 4 games played in league 1 today. Even Morecambe vs Crawley was called off due to international call ups!
It’s probably time that the EFL just don’t schedule any fixtures for the championship and league 1 when international breaks are. At least the fans don’t end up losing money from booked hotels/train tickets.
I’d be be up for not cancelling any games in league 1 and 2. We might lose out more than most but we’d cope. It would preserve the continuity of the competition and put the fans first.

Regarding International fixtures, I'd rather these were scheduled into the league one calendar from the beginning rather than having to rearrange fixtures.

As it stands, there will be 4 weeks where we're likely to have players missing. Lincoln in September, Reading yesterday, Portsmouth in November and Lincoln again in March. These have no option but to be rearranged midweek which will likely reduce the numbers able to attend, reducing income and potentially disadvantaging the team. Although we would still have more midweek games with the breaks already scheduled, some consideration can be given on when these games are scheduled for. Generally the bigger games are planned for Saturdays, so we could have seen Cheltenham and Burton planned for Tuesday nights leaving Saturdays free for Reading and Pompey as an example.

Not only this, but after the international break in March, we will have a minimum of 7 games in 4 weeks between Good Friday and the end of the season. If either us or Barnsley make it to the third round of the FA Cup then there will be another game to reschedule. 4th round for us and Bristol Rovers and we have yet more to fit in. At the end of a season when we are hopefully still pushing for promotion we could be disadvantaged by playing more games than our rivals through no fault of our own.

Had a bit of time to spare, so I've gone early and done a count this evening, rather than my normal first report of midnight on Sunday.

Yes, sales are going well. We're currently at 6,520 home sales excluding boxes. For contrast, this compares with 6,236 at midnight Sunday for Exeter and 6,286 at midnight Sunday for Bristol Rovers.

So 250/300 ahead of the best two sales at that point of the season, with over 24 hours to go.
At midnight last night home sales were 6,620.

This is the highest this season, at this stage, and you can see how it compares with the Exeter and Bristol Rovers game above. It's also 700 above the Port Vale game at this stage. None of the sales appear to be from the club "blocking off" areas either, so all bona fida full price sales.

I've no idea how many will be coming down from Blackpool, so will do a bit of research. But it's looking good so far.

When I got tickets for my grandaughter and partners son (last week) my partners son ended up in the row behind my ST seat - apparently the 'guard of honour' party is bigger than usual , therefore more seats in the block where my ST is ( SSL second block from the fence) will likely show up as blocked off at some point before Saturday?

Don't think Blackpool will bring more then 300/400 down, by all accounts they've cancelled the supporters coach due to only selling 7 (seven) seats?
I'd have thought a fair few more than that, as their away average is just shy of 900 this season, and that includes trips down south to Exeter (750app), Charlton (950app) and Wycombe (650app).

I did see the poster on their forum who mentioned the coach potentially being cancelled, which seemed very odd given that they've just hit a bit of form and climbed up the table?

Firstly I’m not sure what your obsession is with giving away fans more tickets that we need to.
Secondly, out of the teams we play at home for the next 10 games, how many are actually going to need 2200 tickets?! The only 2 teams I can see actually selling that many would be Derby and Reading.
All the other teams will be lucky to even sell all their tickets that we give them at the current allocation.
The point is the most successful businesses maximise revenue. We don't, so our model is weaker as a result.
Remember the Town Hall Collection? I put my last £20 in the hat to help pay bills. Some people have short memories.

Out of interest, which of the 10 teams will sell out an increased away allocation?

Im not sure anyone forgets the situation we used to be in back in the 90’s but I still haven’t seen a valid argument from you to justify giving away fans more tickets on a whim.

I get your point, but doing it would be rather tinpot, there are better ways of generating more income that don't involve giving more allocation to teams than required to do so.

That's where I see it, maybe I've got it wrong and they have a few coaches booked up but will be cancelling an additional coach due to demand?

Where’s that blackpool fan who RE engineered the Kyle Joseph transfer and always says what a great club they are

Remember Orient? We sold lots of tickets and then went down to the Conference.

how many extra away tickets would we need to cover Championship tv money?
