We've lost an end of season game with a bunch of players who have battled like hell for 8 or 9 games to save our season and took their foot off today.

Now we get comments like "keep Brannagan and the kids and get rid of everyone else" - and I'm embarrassing??
Your perspective borders on brown-nosing.

They're gone, we're safe. thus virtually an exhibition match for both teams to send their fans home happy and yet they've matched us stride for stride in front of a near sell out. Make excuses all you want, that was a much truer reflection of the team we are than the one that won the previous two games.

We were crap, particularly 2nd half. We've been crap all year and everybody has to face that reality. We've survived by a nose hair.

Summed up our season really. Slightly better than the opposition (2nd worse team in the league) but miss numerous opportunities and lose.

Is it? Or would the knee-jerk reaction be to suggest we don't need a major overhaul because we won 2 games to save our season?

A much-needed corrective to the rose-tinted ostriches who think Captain Manning only needs to fine-tune a workable squad.

In a perfect world:-
Build a defence around Brown and use Long & Moore as short-term journeymen.
McGuane & Brannagan are adequate but needs a strong leader or two who can pass & think.
The 'attack' is a disaster area. I'd keep Murphy just in case he can continue his form of the last 3 games for most of a season, Goodrham for his potential and loan O'Donkor out.

You need to have a busy summer, Captain M.

Well I’ve never been so glad my car broke down which mean I couldn’t go today! Complete capitulation which underlined the fact we need a major rebuild

Played well first half, should have been further in front, 2nd half we played like it was the last game of the season with nothing to play for. It is sort of to be expected even as fans we don't like it.

Time for the rebuilding of our club to start.

Thank f**k the season is over no more being pissed off come 5pm on a Saturday massive clear out needed enjoy your holiday's and back for more in August 👍

We didn't win for 17 matches, beat two teams with nothing to play for and then lost today against an already relegated team in front of a near sell out crowd.

Knee jerk is suggesting the two wins show the squad is good enough.

What's "knee jerk" is proposing Liam Manning for "manager of the month" after those two wins.

Hope he will be in time...

...but by God, he's got a lot of work to do.

I’d agree with most of that but I’d say the priority is 3 experienced defenders (one right back, one left back and one centre back), two proven, mobile hungry midfielders and a complete rebuild of the forward line. Root and branch changes surely needed

We weren't crap. We were casual in our finishing in a game we dominated.

It's not a good result, but it's come off the back of a really tough 5 or 6 weeks where we've saved out season. If we needed a win then we would have put that game to bed in the first half, absolutely no doubt about it.

Why is that a much truer reflection of the team than the last 9 games under Manning? What complete shite.

If we needed a win to stay up...

..we would have buried the chances we otherwise missed...?

You’re now sounding like Rosie , during commentary he kept saying if we needed to win then we would have put the chances away
What rubbish

We certainly didn't dominate the second half. That's kind on us and harsh on Accrington who played pretty well. First half we were OK with familiar issues in front of goal. As for that pathetic excuse of a busy 5 or 6 weeks - what about Accrington? Have they played the last 5 or 6 weeks of their fight to survive at 50% effort to save themselves for today? Stop making excuses. This was about as even a contest physically and mentally as you could get and we got beat.

I'm not talking specifically about Manning's time. I'm talking about the season. But we've had bad days under Manning as well despite him keeping us up. We may not have needed the win to survive but we needed it for lots of other reasons and we came out second best to an already relegated side. But hey, must be exhausted the poor lambs.

Are you saying our finishing would have been better if we desperately needed it to be ? Crazy untrue comment. So in your eyes we didn’t need to win so we didn’t
