Transfer News January 2021/22 Transfer Window

There were times yesterday Wednesday walked through our MF without a challenge, a strong physical and experienced CDM is a must for me..

Don't forget we're missing Kane though who sits slightly deeper then Brannagan and sykes normally.

You're wrong mate, it wasn't Defoe (or his agent) that Karl was talking about.
Cheers Colin, was hoping it wasn’t Defoe, so nice to hear, but I think that’s what the gist of his comments were e.g. players not realising the importance he puts on players playing for the shirt/club rather than them thinker they are bigger than the club itself.

To be honest I’m not sure why KR was sounding so nackered / stressed **

There will be annoying agents, clubs and players chasing the £. That’s life, it will be the same at every club.

** unless he has to (wants to) get involved in more day to day club things than other managers. Maybe their should be a Director of Football to take some stuff off him?
Probably something to do with the times in which he sits with the board over video call. Think about the time differences! It has been said at times it’s been twice a day. Doesn’t leave a great deal of time for a bit of R&R.

I remember it happening once in the second half when Brannagan was left for dead and sort of gave up the chase. I’d agree that a bigger physical presence is needed somewhere on the pitch and someone capable of better closing down because a few times yesterday it was too easy for them to get within shooting range.

Not sure I'd want us spending too much on Stockton tbh , 28 in March and only had this season as anything above ordinary ( some seasons very ordinary) .
Little resale value as age but absolutely on fire this season.
Would prefer our money going on younger players but depends on how much we have to spend !

After yesterday I quite like the idea of 3:5:2 with Stockton alongside Taylor up front.

we also have players suited to that formation in the squad. If Thorniley stays hes ideal for the left side of the three, likewise Sam Long on the right. Seddon looks far more comfortable in the left wing ack position and Sykes also seemed to adapt to the RWB role really well. I think its a position the Williams would also excel in.

Something like this would be nice

Think he means 3 5 2 - with Taylor and Stockton and Defoe as impact. Will be interesting to see if Winnall can reproduce what he did yesterday, or if too late.
