30 years ago perhaps. Now this is fairly straight forward surgery and recovery time which will mean that he'll be ready for light training already and not far behind others in preseason.

Wish I had your confidence! Ellis Harrison is 27 yrs old and has suffered a possible career ending injury.
We have signed Williams to play RW do we need Whyte to cover that position given his high wages?
Ogilvie wants Championship football and the wages to match.

I wouldn’t class Ryan Williams as our first choice right winger I expect him to be play enough games or be more effective coming off the bench to impact games but don’t see him as a first choice in our starting 11 week in week out like 6/7 are currently, if we signed Whyte he would be first choice & would take us to a different level in terms of signing compared to Williams.

Jason Kerr is right sided so more likely cover for Moore. That will give us 3 first team centre backs, plus Mous and McNally to play the Cup games and provide back up.
