General Season ticket prices

No refunds will be offered, as ST holders had the chance to watch every home game on ifollow for free - is the clubs stance.

I was just being caring and thoughtful of those who might be less fortunate.

Won`t bother with that again.......... feck `em let the kids starve, shouldn`t buy what they can`t afford. :ROFLMAO:

I still think it will be a great PR gesture to give ST holders last year a deal of some sort.

Good publicity is worth its weight in gold.

Maybe the club could offer everyone who bought a season ticket last season free access to the home friendlies this pre season or a sizeable voucher in the club shop. That way it wouldn't cost the club as much and it won't have an impact on next seasons games.

FA Cup first round.
League Cup first round.
Reserve team games.

All used to be free with a ST.

I can’t believe people want refunds 😳

It was made clear from the start that any games we couldn’t go to we would get free access to on IFollow, that was the deal. A nice touch would be to freeze the ST Prices for current holders, and I wouldn’t say no to a free cup game but certainly wouldn’t expect it.

I don't believe anybody has asked for a refund, just a recognition of their loyalty.

My season ticket was £430. I got to watch the home games for ‘free’ at the equivalent of £18.69 per game. Meanwhile, non-ST holders got to watch at £10 per game.

make no mistake, ST holders cash was cashflow for the club and I understand that. However, if there isn’t any kind of recompense for ST holders, I will most certainly be left wondering just how valued we are as customers to OUFC. It has nothing to do with knowing what we were buying, it is a moral compass on behalf of OUFC that i’d hope, as a ST holder is considered by the club and a ‘sweetener’ offered.

Speaking to a Brentford fan (before they were promoted) they have had their season tickets rolled over to next season (i.e. you basically get a free ST for the new season).

While this is potentially a costly move on the face of it, I'm wondering if we shouldn't consider something similar.

The worry would be that if there are still some kind of restrictions in place at the start of the new season, a whole bunch of ST holders will decide not to renew and potentially break a habit of a lifetime. Once broken it may be the case that we struggle to get some of these fans back as ST holders.

Basically it might be better in the long run to ensure that all current ST holders remain ST holders.

If we go away from wage and squad restrictions, which we all want, then we will return to only be able to spend x% of our income. Without season ticket sales we simply can not exist as a functional football club.

I like the idea of guest tickets, preseason friendlies etc, or maybe a free shirt etc. But ultimately I want my club to not only survive but also succeed, and I know that tickets funds that and I am happy with that.

The danger is that there is say a group of three friends who sit together, one decides the club are taking advantage and doesn’t renew, the other two might reconsider as well as the group has broken up.

Which is exactly where I am and four others who travel with me are in, as the unions used to say years ago, “one out, all out.”

The free shirt is a simple but effective way of been a sweetener for fans, even if it’s just in a voucher form. The cost of producing retail products is peanuts compared to what they sell it at, as it is everywhere, so it would cost the club a lot less by giving ST holders from this season a £50 voucher to use in the club shop.

Not a season ticket holder but it’d be pretty terrible if season ticket holders aren’t given some kind of thank you by the club

Random but Leicester Riders basketball team have offered all season ticket holders from this season a free one for next year, with the option for fans to pay as much as they like as a gesture to help the club, I know that would never happen in lower league football but it does make a free home shirt seem a pretty mediocre gesture for football fans, and if it ends up being less than that then the board will have gotten it very wrong Imo

Could the club not freeze the price of season tickets for those who paid up last season and then raise the price for new season ticket holders and pay on the day that way depending how much they raise the price those who paid up last season kind of get something back 🤔

This is exactly the problem - any offer will be seen by some as a mediocre gesture. We have to remember that the club loses around £3m a year, and likely even more through this pandemic. At the same time, we are expecting to go one better next season and challenge for the auto's, and that will need a big increase in playing budget.

I think we all need to be realistic about is nice to do, and what could damage the club's ability to compete or even survive.

I want my shirt embossed with 'True Supporter'. ;):ROFLMAO:

I won’t be renewing if they put the price up by a single penny.

Thousands of us answered the call even though many knew full well that we were unlikely to get to many, if indeed any games all season, but the relationship is a two-way street. A couple of billionaires are supposedly on the verge of taking over, Brentford’s promotion just netted us the best part of a million quid in bonus payments for Baptiste, Dickie could well net us another couple of million if he leaves for the Prem this summer, we had a 1.5m profit from the period before covid to contribute towards the upkeep, and apparently we’re so flush that we might even give Hall another deal if he can’t find anybody to take him on the money that he’s looking for. The club even took £24 off me (and many others) when I already spent well over £400 on a ticket that I got £230 worth of ifollow access in return for, rather than letting us in for free or at least a reduced price. Which they absolutely could have chosen to do given the very unusual circumstances of the last year, so as far as I’m concerned I’ve delivered. I’ve been a good little supporter and put my hand in my pocket at a time when many people have been struggling, so I fully expect to not be asked to pay even more next time. Especially because there is only a slim chance of next season going off without a hitch - we’ve already been told that it’s probably going to be another brutal winter - so chances are that even if prices are frozen we’ll still end up paying over the odds for what we receive. A certain amount of leeway and understanding has to be afforded, of course, but don’t take the P**s.

I’m optimistic that the club will do the right thing in some way, shape or form, and very much hope that I can join many others in the next week or two in signing up for next season. After all, if I’m not a ST holder then I’ll definitely never achieve TRUE fan status. There’s a lot riding on it.
