Away Match Day Thread 09/03/2021 L1 Swindon Town v OUFC

Best goals by Oxford players at the skip...

1) Rob Hall
2) David Penney
3) Dan Agyei

Great strike.
I was right behind the Hall strike. Was getting ready to duck until it suddenly hit the net and then the entire crowd surged forward. Honestly, it just dropped. I have never seen a ball move like that. It dipped several feet in the blink of an eye.

After it went in I just stood there screaming “F*CK OFF” over and over again for about 60 seconds. My brother was stood next to me along with my best mate and the pair of them looked absolutely mortified, even in the moment. Their horror totally overrode their joy.

One of those goals you’ll just never forget. I can’t ever see it being beaten at the skip.

God, it feels good to have the bragging rights back. That’s a massive moment. Now we can look forward and focus on the rest of the season without having one eye on this bunch of mugs. Let’s have it.

So that's you on the famous video then 😂

Not the greatest performance, but who cares? It was all about the result and we got there with real guts. Stevens and Agyei will deservedly get the headlines, but also Brannagan battled for absolutely everything, Atkinson and Moore looked immense, Sykes and Barker took the game to them, and Taylor is looking a goal away from being bang on it.

I know it's an emotional game, but a few comments about players never playing again or not watching if Taylor plays is just pathetic. We have some really tough games coming up with Hull, Doncaster, Blackpool, Lincoln and Sunderland in our next 6 games. We need everyone to play their part, including us. Come through this lot still in contention and we can hit the home straight hard with the playoffs a real possibility.

Get on board the positive bus and save the negative shite for those who've fallen back into the relegation zone where they belong!!!
Tonight I made a point of checking the forum once at half time, and that was it. Just because I didn’t want my view of the game to be influenced by others. We are so reactionary at times and I am guilty of it. Sometimes, we only see what we want to see, instead of what is happening from an objective point of view. Every man turned up today and despite what was one one of the worst pitches I’ve seen since I watched Dragons Den worst bits, we dug in. We showed character and grit. Weirdly, that means more to me than a runaway 4-0 win.

On form Taylor is levels above Agyei and I’ll never accept otherwise, he’s just bang out of form at the moment so get Agyei in there
