Just to add some flesh to Myles’ comment. Carabao just released earnings (before this announcement) and whilst they talk a lot about English football , we aren’t mentioned

So is Carabao out of the picture for us, and it’s Tiger and someone else backing him.

Who knows? But at the end of Jan, Intercarabao alloted another £19.5m of shares, £12.5m paid, with £7m unpaid.

I met Madejski once. When I used to be a journo. He told me something that really stuck: 'football owners don't grow on trees. When you find an honest and trustworthy one, you've been very lucky.'

I must admit when I read about tiger's background, it makes me very nervous. I would love to be wrong. But this looks like a land development deal attached to a football club ownership. His investment in reading fc and relationship with the staff seems to have been chaotic at best.

Well I don’t have any inside info , and am surprised this takeover has come with Tiger as the lead, as presumably Eales wanted a big cash up front payment. So where does that come from ? whereas the ‘debt’ or ‘investment’ ported from Lenagan I’d guess takes a bit more negotiation as to what they’ll pay.

If a deal was going through and the team struggling, surely DE (who retains a 'significant stake' and Tiger would have tried to continue to look for a manager?

You might be right, but as Tiger wasn't the owner and the deal had been in the balance for a while I wouldn't think Bellamy was his man, he might have been DE and still might get installed as the manager.
