What would Akinola coming in mean for Josh Johnson? Seem to be of a similar age profile and and both deep lying midfielders. Imagine that would be JJ out the door, which seems a shame.

It would be interesting to see a Venn diagram of the people questioning Beadle’s age with those who don’t want to loan out Goodrham. Not drawing any conclusions or passing any judgement, but it’d be interesting.
Keeper’s different from a winger though innit? A young winger can make some short impactful appearances but if we sign a keeper we want them to be number one and play most games, otherwise we might as well stick with the three we have.

Based on the Chesterfield thread and the comments which were only about him, I'm not sure he is similar to Josh Johnson. Akinola seems to be better further up the pitch based on the balance of comments.

Completely different scenario tbh, there are plenty more opportunities from the bench , to be rested , or coming on as an impact player for generally attacking players especially where you can manage their playing time.
With a GK you just don't really have that option as you really don't want to be swapping keepers every other week or give them 20 minutes!
I can appreciate the differences, but I just find it interesting that the goalkeeper’s age seems to matter and Goodrham’s seemingly doesn’t.

If you look in the leagues there are many younger forward players in and around first team squads .....very few goalkeepers . And defenders generally.
Tyler can play 2/3 matches , have a break , come on off the bench and massively still be involved whereas a gk you don't tend to want to switch unless you really have to.
A very specialist position.

Kane Wilson doesn't look like he'll be coming here.

Other than on here we were never linked with him were we?

Akinola is 4 years older, maybe it means Johnson goes out on load to get experience.

Re Goalkeepers and age , a known fact as you get older your reflexes decline , in fact no different to outfield players loose pace as they get older and are more prone to niggles with injury .
Example Rooney played for Everton at the age of 16/17 look how he turned out !

Yes but at what age do they start to decline? Are you saying a keeper at 25 has slower reflexes than an 18 year old?

(of course we are ignoring a multitude of other factors here, such as experience and positional sense)

The first 2 letters of these cryptic tweets so far spell ‘MO’

Probably clutching at straws but is this just a drawn out way of announcing Mo Eisa?

Sussed it:

They are the first two designs on the new range of fridge magnets available soon in the club shop....

... still to come:

The milk cup,
Shott's hat
A hot dog
& A training ground mannequin with a wig
