Summer 2020 Cricket Thread

if not before, the new ball ought to see the last wicket go ... albeit a few overs away yet
 
Pretty much an ideal test match performance and the kind of which have been far too infrequent from us for the last 6/7 years - big first innings runs to give us a platform to set the game up. And just shows the madness of the proposed reduction of test matches to 4 days that was being talked about last year, have a day washed out like we did and we'd all be getting deprived of these brilliant games. It's only thanks to our magic man and extraordinary cricketer Ben Stokes that we were in a position to force this result.
 
A good performance by England, but you could tell the attack lacked pace when the ball got soft. Bring on Friday!

Well we lasted 5 balls before losing a wicket...
 
66-2 at lunch .... what was Root thinking ? basically gave his wicket away, again ... that's twice he's been run out this series...
is he suffering with a case of the Denleys?
 
A silly run out of Root, sitting on his bat and not backing up properly. But a decent start on a good pitch. The big fella has turned it already, so if we can bat well now, Bess will come into play later
