This month looks like it could be a really difficult month with some of the fixtures we got coming up we got 6 hard games one game in EFL cup and the usual 3 points against that lot down the A420
With 21pts up for grabs how do we think we will do I think I’d be happy with a return of maybe 14pts but obviously want 21pts?

UNITED'S OCTOBER FIXTURES

  • SAT 3: CREWE ALEXANDRA (H)
  • TUE 6: BRISTOL ROVERS* (H)
  • Sat 10: Gillingham (a)
  • Sat 17: Peterborough United (a)
  • TUE 20: MK DONS (H)
  • SAT 24: SWINDON TOWN (H)
  • Tue 27: Charlton Athletic (a)
  • Sat 31: Fleetwood Town (a)
*EFL Trophy

It's not just the fixtures themselves, though those are hard enough, its the congestion. Normally at this stage in the season of you're playing Sat-Tues-Sat at least one of those games is a cup game where you can rest players. Here they're ALL tough league fixtures. Squad rotation will be a real challenge. Points will definitely be dropped. 13 points would be a great return.

Beat Bristol Rovers in the Trophy game in 90 mins and we'll have qualified already. Walsall/Chelsea was 1-1 midweek with Chelsea getting the extra point after winning the penalty shootout.

Does 'home games' mean quite so much though in the current circumstances?
Last season, the first three sets of games produced 8 away wins.
This season, the first three sets of games produced 12 away wins.
Maybe without the home crowds, the away team find it a bit easier?

Looks like the rearranged Crewe game will be on the following Tuesday 13th
Which is 4 days before a 14 day isolation after crewe squad and staff were in contact with 'someone ' who tested positive yesterday....(unless crewe squad &staff have tested several times during the ensuing 10day period) ....efl again prove they are not fit for purpose

Elite sportspeople only have to isolate for 7 days

This whole sports people regulations is total nonsense. Was talking to a club golf professional who is going away on holiday and will not have to self isolate on returning to the UK because he is an elite sports person. Not doing any sporting activity whatsoever.
Just another example of ill drawn up regulations that are not fit for purpose and of course total effing arrogance means they will not be changed to be made fit for purpose.

Another one to add to the list!

Shocking decision by the EFL. Why is the league different to the league cup?

Lets hope we give Covid Alexandra a good kicking anyway.
