Always the same 3-4 people’s anti letters whereas many different peoples from a positive viewpoint. Hopefully this will be noticed elsewhere.1 anti stadium letter in todays OM ....Steve Fisher responding to @bazzer9461 .... that makes it 2-1 to pro stadium this week ( at last a win!) ...repro to follow soon(ish)
Don’t worry Barry, they’re just words and words is all he has to take your heart away.
But the poin he made which I would like to see which obviously the county council have and that is the proof that we can’t stay beyond 2026.Fair response to be fair. We all want this done properly.
Sounds pretty impressive. Here's the gist -
Legends International, a premium experiences company, has commissioned a piece of research with senior business professionals to gather the opinions of potential users of Oxford United’s proposed new site, which aims to create a vibrant stadium harnessing the heritage, passion and atmosphere of the current stadium while building competitive advantage to the home team. The study has been commissioned by Oxford United FC, a professional football club.
Legends International conducted an initial piece of secondary research to identify industry experts and trusted advisors; we believe your expertise would add significant value to this study.
We are RONIN International, a London-based independent market research agency specialised in business global market research. We are currently contacting all stakeholders identified for this research and would be delighted to include your views in this project.
Must be a company founded by Dave L, Aldo, Ray, Magic, Ceri, Kristabs, Brian and Andre.Sounds pretty impressive.
This is a reasonable letter, the first thing we have to do is get proof that we have to move. I didn’t get the chance to ask on Friday but have sent a letter to Tim Williams asking him to lay out exactly why we have to move. I have also asked the Ox Mail to do some investigative journalism and interview K****m and get him to say why he won’t sell for a reasonable price.

We do need to get those details out there
100% correct. That's been provided to the council and Cllr Miller confirmed as such in the cabinet meeting on 24th January which was recorded for all to listen back. Unfortunately the opposition pretend things they don't like haven't happened, this matter and the consultation being two examples.
A lot of the information is commercially sensitive and confidential and due to those opposed taking quotes out of context and applying spin and harassing and intimidating councillors and officers with freedom of information act requests, all parties who are relevant in this process prefer to keep things between themselves which is the norm.
Tarquin, what an exotic name for a dustman100% correct.
It has been provided to the satisfaction of OCC and it is also mentioned, in black and white, in the OCC notes prior to the meeting that they requested confirmation from the club that we have to leave in 2026 and that it was provided.
It's a total non-issue and the fact Middleton and McIvor haven't seen it is irrelevant. They have no more right to see it than anyone else, including me, you, or my dustman*. What is relevant is that the people who need to see it (OCC) have seen it, and are happy with it.
* Apologies to my dustman if you're reading this, no offence intended Tarquin.
It's upmarket where I live, and so are the dustmen!Tarquin, what an exotic name for a dustman
Sounds like it! .It's upmarket where I live, and so are the dustmen!
If you choose not to release important information into the public domain then it's scarcely surprising that people who don't have access to that informa tion will fear a stitch-up.
That's why it's important that people close to the club should be ready to engage with the public and their elected representatives rather than suggest that it's none of their business when people ask for evidence.
If Tarquin is a resident of Oxfordshire he has every right to know what is being planned and why.
The arrogance of the prawn sandwich brigade telling him not to worry his pretty head about it because the big boys have already made their mind up it is likely to do serious harm to the stadium bid.
I can't understand why one would want to keep perhaps the single most important point in the case for the stadium secret- except of course because it makes one feel important. One could for example offer to show them the evidence as long as they signed a Non Disclosure Agreeement. Or invite someone from OCC to chat to them off the record.
Read my earlier post, the council has been informed and they've publicly said so. See also my bit about those opposed pretending things they don't like haven't happened. If you choose not to release important information into the public domain then it's scarcely surprising that people who don't have access to that informa tion will fear a stitch-up.

Thanks as always @Colin B100% correct.

Yes, several times, with several different owners, and always the same response. Thanks as always @Colin B
Out of interest did we ever put in a bid to buy the stadium?
And something I overheard from one of the ten attending on Friday, do K****m’s plans include not only getting rid of the stadium but possibly the Bowlplex and Cinema area as well?
