Matches Crystal Palace - First 10k gate of the season

I only bought my ticket at midday today and wouldn’t have gone at all had my brother not already bought his and badgered me a little. I’m going purely to socialise with him as we both continue to move through a very tough period for our family. Were it not for that then I wouldn’t have bothered, and that’s solely because what I’ve seen so far this season has been so poor.

Only speaking for myself, but I doubt I will be alone on that front. Will be interesting to see how sales go between now and Saturday.

I don’t bother with mid week league games much these days. But it’s pretty rare we get to play an EPL team as it relies on getting through early rounds in league or FA Cup and then luck of the draw.
So I am booked for this.

Enjoying a cup run when you're doing so s**t in the league is a bit like eating dessert before dinner. It's great in the moment but when you think about it, it's slightly uncomfortable.

got mine yesterday - grandaughter will be in Poland, shes not been to a game yet this campaign

Like others I'm waiting to see what we do on Saturday before deciding whether to spend more of my hard earned cash.

I snuck a toffee crisp out of my parents’ pantry before we went for a family meal last weekend. Managed to bosh the entire thing while my dad was changing his shirt and my mum was checking the washing on the line. I can’t deny that it did take the shine off the rack of ribs I was tucking into about 45 minutes later, but I would likely do it again if given the chance.

Oh come on, it could be brilliant, no pressure in the cup against much higher opposition. It could get our season going. But I don’t have to drive miles or whatever

You’ve learnt NOTHING.

Think it’s an age thing, can’t get excited by it.
And if they carry on serving up this tripe it’s unlikely to change.
You could always ask Ryan to sneak a couple extra Toffee Crisp from out the Pantry and then pop and have a chat with Manorlounger over a biscuit, he may even share his £12 pie with you.

I am one of the ST non-uptakers. I was going to buy a ticket - but as an exile, travel plus a ticket ends up being an expensive evening out (probably just shy of £60 when petrol is included), and the performances on Saturday and last night are making me reconsider. I'll be there on Saturday of course and if there is any substantial sign of improvement I suspect I will be tempted (although I do realise the team will change for Tuesday). What has been served up so far is not much an incentive.

Over 300 sales between 16:30 and midnight yesterday, so still plenty of interest, and that's after Tuesday evening's poor result.

It's apparent from many of the comments above that Saturday's game will have quite a large effect on whether some season ticket holders attend or not, so that's another factor that makes this one hard to forecast. I'll monitor today and tomorrow's sales and then look to make a forecast after Saturday's game. Maybe not a sell out, but still hopeful of 10,000 is my current guesstimate.
