Surely Crewe have to be punished for this? If they have brought a player who is known to be positive down on the team bus with them, what the bloody hell were they thinking?
And (replying to my own post!) if he was unwell and got a positive test result this morning and *didn't* travel, why on earth weren't we (as in the club) told about this earlier than when the rest of them arrived at the stadium, with another one feeling ill?

Not their families. Anything outside of their families for sure.
But what about their families who will mingle with others at work etc? It’s too hard to organise for more than a few weeks at a time.

His result arrived while he was on the coach so at best he travelled whilst symptomatic....................

Anyone with symptoms should self isolate from day one. If positive they should carry on for 14 days. If negative come out of isolation.
So if he was there the crap should hit the fan!!

Precisely this.

If there isn't routine screening of the asymptomatic and Wintle was tested, then he must have been symptomatic by definition.

If he's symptomatic, been tested and then trained and travelled with his squad...then Crewe must get utterly destroyed.

£65 per person with BUPA, could probably negotiate that down to £40 easy enough......... 30 folk £2,400 a week for two tests. Test on a Tuesday result by Wednesday "clear" folk to do a form of shielding until Saturday, could then test again Sunday for a midweek game.......... compared to the wage bill its probably a drop in the ocean?

Might get bulk discount as well. :)

The EFL statement is clear. It's Crewe who asked for the fixture to be postponed.

Unless the EFL have got it wrong of course!

They'll probably say the club didn't know as he got the test done privately. Wintle may have to take one for the club!!

I think Radio Oxford said

Robinson didn't want to play.

Crewe did hence they travelled to the stadium

Yet they travelled a 250-mile round trip to ask for a postponement, rather than pick up the telephone...?

Hmmmm.....wonder if anyone will pick the Football League up on that...?
