Definitely good time to play Derby. And the August fixtures look very kind.
After 10 league games we were 8th with 15 points (4W, 3D, 3L)
Having played 6 games at home and 4 away.
Having played 8 teams that finished in the bottom half and only 2 from the top half (only 1 of which was a top 8 side).
And even then we were 'only' 8th (Wednesday level on points behind us with a game in hand, so effectively 9th), already 4 points off automatics, and as I said yesterday - on course for just 69 points.
We actually improved on that so-called good start in terms of position and points. So if that was a good start, the rest of the season must have been even better, which is odd because we still only finished 8th.
Of course, it wasn't a disaster by any stretch but it is completely misleading to suggest that we started last season well. We dropped a lot of points in the first two months, particularly away from home.
This season looks like a relatively similar start to last season and quite frankly 15 points from the first 10 games would not be a good return.
Nah.Home on Valentines Day, could be some difficult discussions to be had!!

What?I’d say them opening 8 games look incredibly favourable. 20 points from them would be a nice haul, and entirely possible! Just need some fresh legs now, to balance the squad. If KR can build a balanced squad that is, because he’s not managed it yet since being here.
It depends on how you describe start of the season.Having played 6 games at home and 4 away.

Sorry to be picky but you must type Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.Definitely good time to play Derby. And the August fixtures look very kind.

The fact that we had an excellent first 5 games suggests to me that there was no particular problem with the team at the start of the season. We didn't takes ages to 'gel'
Sure the next 5 were not as good, but that was almost after the players were match fit

I pity the vidiprinter typist if they draw Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa or Frank Lampards Everton in one of the cupsWayne Rooney's Derby County (Wayne Rooney's) Football Club (Wayne Rooney)?
There shouldn't be any fixtures on that particular evening, surely the clubs could agree to move games to Wednesday 15th February?Home on Valentines Day, could be some difficult discussions to be had!!
Certainly no one will realise they havePersonally, I'm very disappointed that Oxford are away on 30th July, as this will probably be the only ever EFL fixture list to start in July.
I 'collect' dates on which I've seen Oxford play at home, and was very pleased with the Coventry friendly on 16th July, as I've never seen them at home on that date (and presumably no-one else has!)
