General 2020/21 New Kit

Nothing beyond ’this month’.

For a club with very few revenue streams, you would've thought they'd actually want to make use of one of them. ?‍♂️

I imagine a club with few revenue streams is more focussed on getting the best possible sponsorship deal before they look at kit release.

It's not like the overall sales will go down because it's a couple of weeks late.

Another commercial shambles from the club, working in that environment it really winds me up that we are so P**s poor!

A little unfair on the club to say it's a commercial shambles.

It's quite feasible that different sponsors were waiting to see which league Oxford United would be playing before comitting themselves, or negotiating the size of their offer.

Remember, its not just the main shirt sponsors, back-of-shirt and short sponsorship also needed sorting. There were a lot of ifs-n-buts until the Wembley match.

Once League 1 was confirmed, talks with sposnsors would have needed to be finalised, counter offers made, or even new sponsors found.

So assuming the sponsors are finalised, artwork will need to be sent to (Puma's?) factory and production time alotted. Once produced, the garments then need to be shipped to the UK.

All of the above in the space of three weeks? Hardly P**s poor!

"All of the above in the space of three weeks?" - during a pandemic...

Portsmouth and Fleetwood seem to have managed it

Club shop is shut today to do a stock take, could be either the first sign that the new kit is on its way and they are just managing space, or it could be a cover story to allow them to put all the new shirts on display ahead of being released this afternoon and available to buy tomorrow ;)

with our new record high earner signing wearing it

Looks like a sponsor announcement incoming! Could kit follow?

EDIT: From the article on the OWS, sounds like they won't be announcing replacements today after all... ?

Nice thinking, but it's unlikely. Normally stock takes are done after Christmas in most shops, but after the end of the season and before the release of the new kit our club shop will be the quietest, hence the annual stock take today.

At least with Xmas you can count down the days. It’s very hard not knowing when our new kit will be released. Please hurry up!!

Footfall at the club shop must be low, a pop up shop in the middle of the clarendon centre would be worthwhile just now and can't be expensive.
