A fair match report.

Lovely jubbly for the result and performance.

I commented a couple of games ago that Lego was a bit anonymous but today he was fantastic. From only seeing it live, his booking was a bit of joke as it looked like he just won the header.

2 important saves from Clint which were as good as a goal. Rob Dickie and James Henry were also excellent. Cracking run by Riccy for the 2nd goal.

All round just bloody brilliant that we won a vital game, especially after the results elsewhere.

Dave Pritchard’s recent piece on the likely points total needed.

I thought ex-Reading striker Simon Cox was trying to get ex-Reading defender Rob Dickie sent off.

Cox trying every trick in the book. Going to Ground too easily, backing in, feigning injury...

Dickie was a colossus for the U’s.

I suggested 52 when things were looking perilous.

So target Doncaster and Rochdale for between two and six points and regard Blackburn and Wigan as free hits. Anything from those two - even a point - would be regarded as a bonus.
I think we’ll be ok as long as we don’t lose to Rochdale, as we’d be depriving them of points too

Get in there...clean sheet ...home win (1st under KR ...are you watching @Borntobeyellow[/B] ? ) ...3 precious points...bogey side well and truly picked(off) ....looking like a good weekend :D

Bring on Wigan...we'll get something there tuesday night I

I forgot about him, wonder where he’s gone? For
Good I hope

They will now miss Ian Henderson for 4 games (including ours) after he got sent off today as well. 20 goals this season in all comps

TOday we played the way we should have all season - as a skilful hard working mid table side, just a couple of players short of being playoff contenders. So many wrong turnings and false starts, but I think we’re going in the right direction as long as we don’t mess up the next few games.

A well deserved win, the organisation that Robinson has built in the side and the commitment that he asks for really showed today, we play narrow because we have no other option but the huge improvement in home performances under Robinson should keep us safe, I fancy us to beat Rochdale here, despite the panicking old women making out they are Real Madrid.

Some great performances but for me over the last few weeks it’s Dickie who has stepped up and embarrassed the supposed ITK gossips who said that Readings youth cone men never rated him, as if youth coaches in this country can produce quality centre backs who can actually defend anyway rather than midget sideways passing midfielders, the boy is a proper centre half who wins every thing that comes near him, miles above who ever Clotet would of signed to play at the back.

Is that including our superior goal difference? Rochdale aside, it’s worth a point against the other clubs fighting relagation.

Been working most of the day and tried to listen to the match but kept getting interrupted!! ?. I did hear the shock of the commentators voice on Ricci’s Goal and just seen why but just goes to show what happens when you throw crosses and shots in at L1 goalkeepers!
Well done to the lads that stepped up under immense pressure. Pretty sure this win will secure the L1 status but definitely need to keep this up and who knows we might shock Wigan!!

Who gets dropped when Nelson is 100%? Mousinho obvious choice, but maybe Mowatt will make way to push Cam up and play Mousinho at the base of the diamond. Think that's what happened when he came on.

When Nelson come on I thought Moushino would go off.

Does Robinson not like 3 at the back?

Thinking about it more, I'm liking the idea of Mousinho at the base of the diamond. It'll give Dickie/Nelson more freedom to run with the ball and join attacks.

First thing that Mous did when Nels came on was to rush over and make sure he gave him the armband. Class act.

Also wanted to say that first corner we had with Nels on the pitch we actually looked far more of a threat. How many points has missing him cost? We'd be nowhere near being worried about 50 points if he hadn't been injured, but he might have gone in January too!

I don’t like Mousinho in that role. He’s nowhere near quick enough. Part of that role is to quickly close down space. Playing the ball out maybe but out of possession he’s not dynamic enough. Next season he should be a squad player at best.

Eastwood collected so many daisy cutters today. One save from point blank range second half was a turning point. That would have made it 2-1 and hearts in mouth. Truly immense performance from him. No enjoyment for me today. Dry mouth, raised blood pressure, heart racing...and I feel those around me felt the same. This football club means so much to so many people.

Was just about to mention Mousinho. Was Really professional that and felt like it wasn't necessary for a few of our fans to boo him at the start.

Since Robinson came in he's upped his game and has looked more assured, just needs to iron out a few silly backpasses and not try to travel so far with the ball.

As for Nelson,he did one thing Mousinho and Dickie doesn't when he came on, instead of running towards the ball he used initiative and found space for him to attack the ball.

If we can get him back fully for Rochdale that would be huge.

It's his natural position and would allow more freedom to Brannagan and Ledson to push forward. What he lacks in speed he gives back in experience which i feel our midfield has lacked at times with Ruffels being our oldest CM.

I hope that he’s deployed there against Wigan or Blackburn and we can see how effective he is cos if we want promotion next year they are the type of games we need points from. Mous is experienced but you definitely need speed when you play in that position. The best player in the country is Kante in that position. We need a L1 version of him capable of harrying and rushing the opposition into losing the ball so we can play quickly into midfield.
