And there was great demand for the Gameboy that year too!

It must have been even sweeter knowing that the spotty kid in salmon chinos down the road missed out on a Gameboy and ended up with a 3d Tomytronic instead!
But the lack of AA batteries, let us down!

🤣🤣 you don’t even know me!

People are allowed to be disappointed that our marquee signing of this window, to the tune of £400k+ cannot play in the next four games, at least.

Honestly, it doesn’t make it a bad signing at all. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone suggest that it does, but people are allowed to be disappointed.

Ones opinion isn’t more significant than another’s. If that means you have less time for me, then I guess I’ll have to try and sleep tonight. If I can’t, I’ll be sure to drop Kip a message.
It might not get through. My inbox on here is overflowing with members telling me they agree with everything I say but they can't post that publicly for fear of being told to go and support Charlton.

But he’s injured has been since New Year’s Day match that’s 4 weeks out with a slight injury on his quad which he will have to be careful with so will he be fit if he start remaining at the end of the month which I assume is January 31st he’ll need more than a week to get anywhere matches fitness.
Was on the bench for Cheltenham's abandoned game last week. I suspect we're taking same approach with Goodwin as we are with Bodin and Murphy i.e. getting them back to actually 100% rather than risking them at 70% and seeing them disappear for months, as has already happened with Browne and Edwards this season.
No I’m not I’m just saying if god forbid Harris is out injured banned what have we got m.and yea I have faith and yea I’m glad we’ve got Goodwin somebody though reported yesterday he failed the medical maybe that bit was true and we are taking a gamble.
But Goodwin ticks th box in being a bill of a player tall and could be the Billy Hamilton but until he’s fit and ready to go I wil reserve my Judgement.
He 1million percent did not fail the medical

And all your mates were playing games and exchanging stories of the great time they had, whilst you were left playing Ludo and snakes and ladders whilst waiting for Woolies to open a few days later. By the time you got the batteries the games you had to play had been finished by your mates who’d now moved on to something even more exciting.

The key bit you’re ignoring ….12 days before Christmas. None of them even know what second rate toys they’re getting yet. 😉

We are getting close to a very balanced squad. A couple more forwards and we’ll be looking tasty. The thing I like from our signings is the potential longevity and pipeline element.

I’ll wait until the summer for Seddon, Findlay Henry and Browne to leave and the new right back and additional wingers.

Reading the general view on here that Goodwin is out for a few games but unless I misheard in his interview, he indicated he could be involved for the game next week if not Saturday?

Let's give you a very simple example...

Week 4 of Window:

After various negotiations, Player A finally (rightfully!) settles for Oxford, on the final day of the window.

But what if Player A stubs his toe...and won't be able to play for 3 days..?:cry::cry:

Yeah, I did wonder about that too. Maybe he knew the Northampton match would be rearranged, and is slyly referring to the rearranged fixture at the end of Feb?

Out of interest, what exactly happened with Seddon? He went from being our top assist provider to suddenly being shifted out on loan. As I couldn't make that many matches around that part of the season, I must have missed something that was blatant to everyone not listening to RadOx.

Unfortunately Seddon was never going to be the solution if you are pushing for promotion

Oh come on! It's Ladapo, it has to be with where we are at this season. The guy led the line for a team that walked the league (and the team before that), knows exactly how Edwards and Leigh play, draws away defenders and is physical. It's a ready made deal.

I have lots and lots of confidence in Goodwin. But it's a risk. He has 6 goals. I'm sure he will be a great signing.

But he's nowhere near as nailed on as Ladapo is at this level. Plus Ladapo can play in January.
Interesting that Charlton tried to get Goodwin before Ladapo then!

I’d say he was tolerable and a decent bottom half of league one defender.

I think “Greg Leigh” answers your question. I think at some point in the next 12 months we’ll have the same situation at eight back

He had a couple of decent games to start but was ultimately pretty poor. Also suffered for being he only left back at the club meaning he had to keep playing despite looking utterly bereft of confidence and getting done every week. It was blatant to everyone in the stadium, RadOx's coverage is generally excellent but they do tend to be overly positive, Rhodes-Brown would likely have you believe he was the new Roberto Carlos and was just unlucky.

Certainly gave his all and I wish him the best. He'll get released in the summer and find a good League 2 team or a bottom half/relegation threatened League 1 team and that's the top end of his level. Good luck to him, hopefully he does well at Burton and ends up getting a deal there.

This was pre-Leigh, though. He got sent out on loan last season. If he wasn't strong as a defender, perhaps a position higher up the pitch could have been an option last term (given the constant lack of injury-free wingers) as at the time of his departure to Cambridge he had still created more of our goals than anyone else.

This might sound like a facetious answer but I don’t really think that was much to do with him.

Our play dictated that he was swinging in a lot of crosses from the left, but overall we weren’t scoring many anyway so the stat is a little misleading.

But more importantly seddon was getting toasted in defence and his distribution was absolutely shocking. Our possession based game hit a black hole every time we went out to him.

Yeap, consistent upgrades in every position - LB, RB, Keeper - even 'CF off the bench'. Incremental improvements designed to turn us from also-rans to a side that actually achieves something.

Unfortunately a number fans need to be dragged to that point, kicking and screaming.
