35 y/o. 10 goals in league one last season. Not my first choice but could come in handy
Yeah would be mad if we hadn’t at least enquired to understand the cost etc. Ladapo, Mellon or Taylor would all be preferable though for me.

Taylor seems the closest match to Harris, whether that’s what we’re after I’m not sure. We definite need a bit of experience up there to help Harris is that 35 year old Lee Gregory, that depends on the terms of any deal for me.

Jensen Weir is being recalled by Brighton, one I hoped we were after in the summer. Not worked out for him at Blackpool but he was excellent for Morecambe last year.

This thing where you get players on a year's loan, and then they get recalled if they've done well is a little bit nonsensical tbh. (And could screw us up with some of ours.) A full season should be a full season.

Works both ways though. We can return a player back to their parent club if we don't want them anymore.

What if we got Mellon in and he scored 7 or 8 and gets us playoffs or more? Should we have just settled for Perkins and hope that he comes good?

It's still screwed over some other club though, right? (Not sure which club Mellon is with.) And Perkins, well you win some, you lose some, but no idea why he hasn't been given more of a chance tbh.

Mellon was on loan at Morecambe. All clubs know there is a risk of a player being recalled in the January window so it doesn't come as a surprise. There is a certain date within the window that the player can no longer be recalled or returned which gives time for that club to replace the player.

As for Perkins it's clear as day he hasn't done enough in training to warrant a place on the bench. That's two managers this season that haven't picked him.
