I am really at a loss to understand how Singha beer could have got any more exposure of their brand than what our team gave them this season. Even with covid wreaking havoc with the league, they had more than enough National tv exposure on the shirt due to our cup runs and play-offs. You would have thought that they would be chomping at the bit to get another deal done. Not just that, but we are playing the kind of cool, exciting football that companies should be clamouring to be associated with. If they cannot see that, then Singha’s dope marketing department need firing.

Have you took in to consideration. That another sponsor may have offered more to us to have there logo on the shirts? Maybe singha couldn't match it.

Exactly this. The club has had huge exposure and this sponsorship deal will prove to be fair more lucrative than the previous one. Getting sidetracked with worries about where the beer was sold is ridiculous. This is about moving the club forward with business partners to maximise income.

Yes, I can't imagine the sponsors left because they couldn't flog a few pints on alternate Saturdays! There are many sponsors whose products and services aren't sold directly at matches.

hoping whoever the sponsor is , their logo can appear on u18/kids replica shirts..... it ain't easy explaining/ trying to explain to young grandkids why their replica shirt isn't the same as the shirts the players are wearing  ;)

"Can I have Singha for Christmas, grandad?"

Though I guess with all the insurance firms sponsoring big teams you don't get that from kids.

I may be wrong, it happens, but, I seem to recall that Singha came on board as a stop gap sponsor through links to Tiger in Thailand? Not the lucrative deal we were necessarily looking for but useful at the time.
I thought that there was talk of bigger investment , potentially owner part of the club?

That sounds familiar. It's a shame that the sponsorship couldn't go any further but, I guess, that Singha felt unable to justify spending more for the possible returns. Promotion might have changed that although I suspect the decision had been taken some time ago.
