Atmosphere

Not sure why a club should be expected to pander to a group of supporters to be honest. I also believe that if there is anything sinister in the stewarding then that is wrong too and should not be tolerated by the club but surely the whole purpose of any fan (whether they seem to consider themselves superior to everyone else or not) is to get behind the team. Forget the flags argument, if they sing and get behind the club when there are flags why is is different if there is not ?

I think we all need to remember that all paying fans are the same and no group should expect some sort of special treatment

Just my view
I am confident the stewards are doing their jobs by the book. If not OUFC wil lose its license to host sports event. Dont blame the stewards there are being directed by Ian Mixter.

Its how the rules n regs are interpreted and applied....interpretation and application Id say is where the problem is....and, Mr Mixter is 'employed' or subcontracted, by OUFC , therefore OUFC do have some say in interpretation and more so application of aforementioned rules n regs on the paying CUSTOMERS of OUFC

Whatever happened last time in a meeting between club and ultras, that was in a much more private setting wasn't it?

Surely the environment this time with OxVox present too (who have been very supportive of the ultras in the past iirc) represents a perfect opportunity for a decent discussion.

By not having someone go to put their point across, the ultras shoot themselves in the foot.

Yes this is important. The ground team stewards are all generally excellent and all decent people. But are clearly being directed and controlled very differently as to previous years under IM.

Wednesday evening, masons arms, headington quarry oxvox meeting would be an excellent place to raise those and other concerns to the person employing/subcontracting mr mixter

That’s my point though, that can’t and won’t happen again, not only will it be in front of Oxvox but in front of a lot of other fans. People will stick up for you (Im guessing ur tbfuth) but it really does need one of u there willing to speak up and put ur side across. Otherwise the club can just say well we did this and that and they didn’t stick to it. This really is a golden opportunity to find a solution, but u can’t do that with only one side around the table
I attended the Chairman's Q&A in the summer and the keyboard warriors who were being extremely negative to Mr Eales didnt have the "balls" to show up and challenge him. Only Sarge spoke up.

Best place to ask a question, is , I find ,directly to the person/persons who are likely to be able to answer...... I may not like or for that matter neccessarily agree with an answer to any question i ask, however getting a response in person is much better than via third or fourth hand interpretation....and besides, asking in person means you can put emphasis if required ,to any specific element of any question, also it's raised with the person/persons most likely to make any changes if any are required. ......tomorrow evening's ox vox members meeting has the potential to help adress the current lack of atmosphere at the breeze block ....along with other business too:)

I love what the Ultras do, BUT wasnt Saturday all about the lads being out for one of their numbers Birthday and it was known there'd be no flags up?

I'm all for giving the club stick when appropriate, but that needs to be cleared up.
Did they come to the game even? Didn't hear anything from them on NYD too, it was very noticeable.

The other added bonus in asking a question directly to the person face-to-face is you get to see how they react to the question, deal with it and can tell if they are answering genuinely and honestly.

I respect Mr Eales and Mr McWilliams/Mr Mixter (?) for attending.

OxVox haven't implemented a hard ticket approach so there are concerns around safety.
If the ultras do go, make sure they take that drum and bang it, so they all know what we’re missing ?, in all fairness I use to be anti drum but it does give the singing some rhythm.

Something I'd like the 'Ultra's' make clear, if they can be bothered, is the way they were -(Apparently) spoken to by the chairman and Mr Mixter(?) during a meeting they had over the issues regarding the Ultra's group.
From reports it sounded very much like the fans were treated as naughty children, and given no right to respond? So if anyone from the group can clear this up please?
I think it important, if for no other reason/s it seems a group of previously avid fans have been driven away from supporting their team by some heavy handed treatment by oufc board members, and if true, it's deplorable and has implications for the atmosphere in and around the club.

I believe this was covered on the old forum at the time, and quite a lengthy post about the meeting. December 2016;
