Have you asked if you can do the same good work but under OxVox yet?

Have OxVox ever offered to have a OUSP type branch?

Seems a pretty easy discussion now they exist, but only if OUSP would be willing to fold underneath them...

Seems incredibly simple - why not?

If OUSP don`t have enough volunteers to be democratic and OxVox don`t have enough folk to do the "fan experience" stuff what is stopping us having one organisation, one voice, one democracy?

I may have mentioned this before?

Maybe @OUSP could add it to their next agenda?

Just needs OUSP to accept that they could work more effectively as part of OxVox, then they get the democracy they don`t currently have.

Even if they are "elected by default", or maybe they won`t because they become more recognised and accountable?

Simple fix that frees up their willingness to volunteer as part of the recognised Supporters Trust.

PS - how is that voting looking?

I don't want to be represented by fans who are rude and condescending to other fans, nor by those who consistently have a moral superiority complex, show sycophantic behaviour, and are always intent on virtue signalling.

Oxvox have done and are doing a very good job of representing the fans.

It's a very good question.

OUSP could work much more effectively as a functional unit UNDER OxVox. OuSP would get independence and credibility it clearly lacks and supporters would have an expanded 'one-stop shop' for help and representation.

What's not to like?

(I shall be emailing my lifetime supporters' organisation about this)

@OUSP @Scotchegg I just want to re-iterate, and I think I speak for everyone when I say this, everyone advocating for OUSP to disappear don't do it because we don't appreciate your efforts, quite the opposite, we just think it weakens the voice of the supporters by diluting OxVox, and OxVox is more important than ever when you look at the way senior management are treating supporters as well as the obvious stadium issues.

I'd hope that if it did happen, which I hope it does, all current OUSP volunteers would continue to offer their time to an equivalent panel underneath OxVox

Can either one of you confirm how it would/could be disbanded? Would the club need to be involved?

It's important to recognise that this forum only represents a part of the wider fanbase and even within this, and the strength of feeling that some have, we have only had 14 forum members say that they do not feel that OUSP is fit for purpose.

I know of numerous fans who have valued the work that OUSP have done and continue to do. So I think talk of disbanding is somewhat premature and not necessarily representative of the entire supporters group.

Equally, it is worth remembering that the introduction of OUSP was done with the support of OxVox, and a representative of OxVox attends every meeting. I am not aware of OxVox raising any concerns about OUSP diluting their work, in fact, there are times when the two groups have actively worked together to achieve more than could have been achieved separately. You may not agree, and that's fine. All views are important.

But I will not be tending my resignation from OUSP and will not be looking at disbanding it.

Nobody mentioned disbanding. The proposal is to move OUSP under OxVox control so it is independent and represents the supporters' interests robustly in it's field of expertise.

It's literally in the post I responded to. OxVox represent their members. OUSP represent all supporters regardless of membership. So arguably the suggestions being made would be less representative then we currently have.

Because it would likely need to be disbanded in its current form to then reform under OxVox.

I do find it odd that OUSP members former and present get so defensive on the topic, it’s as if there’s a hidden agenda.

Supporters literally want you to do the same thing, just with less influence from OUFC
