So we had five loanees - Perkins has already gone back, Tatabanya is heavily hinting that Edwards has already gone back (as is usually ITK), all reports suggest that Beadle is being recalled, and now Mills looks to have gone down with a horrible injury so you have to doubt if he'll play again this season.

By Monday, we could be down to Finn Stevens.


What an insane few weeks of work Des and Waldron have ahead of them.

Need a keeper, two strikers, two wingers and ideally a midfielder (plus a new CB if Moore is indeed off......although that could just be something being made out of nothing). And that's assuming we can get an extension with Bennett done and we don't lose anyone else. But we may well have four loan slots available......

Will be the busiest January that I can remember.

No release clause for Moore in his contract and he is off sick according to Des, mentioned Covid but not sure if that actually is Moore though.

Beadle hasn't definitely gone but plan if he does. I guess we are pleading to keep him!

Was actually talk about Stevens being recalled at one point as well, seem to have avoided it but would be a first to have all 5 gone in January.

I sometimes wonder if someone at the club walks under ladders every day.

Des completely dispelled the Moore rumours when the question was put with him, but clearly is not allowed to say much about Beadle. Although looks like he’s off. I felt sorry for him in that interview tbh.

I thought Des sounded credible to be honest. A lot of the above is out of his hands and any timescales he gives we will hold him too.

It’s tough at the moment but we have to battle on.

The issue with the assistant seems to be with his existing contract with his current club.

If they've asked us not to, it's probably not a great move to go against it. Especially if we want to then go back for some more of their young players on loan in the future. They hold all the cards and we're the ones with everything to lose from making them unhappy.

I got the impression we are really trying to keep him so saying nothing is probably better. That said it is likely a forlorn hope.

It's the staff thing that REALLY bugs me. Surely that should have been absolutely paramount before January window opened. Des hasn't been here 5 minutes anymore, he joined on 16th November!!. They've had plenty of time to get that done so that all resource was focused on player recruitment this month, not to mention having another voice and opinion or two in the building. Instead we are still faffing around shuffling paperwork for backroom staff. What on earth is going on. It's annoying distraction from a time that should be all about capitalising on this opportunity we have in the league and limiting the damage of this injury crisis.

One does get a "club falling apart" feeling right now. That's based on nothing but mood, but that's why the club should come out and reassure supporters (if indeed all is still ok).
