It's easy to become a billionaire. All you have to do is write down the next set of Euromillions numbers a day in advance, and then invest the winnings in the next Apple, Amazon and Google.

If your contact book is full of people with the means, ability and will to finance a world class stadium and the know-how to advance roughly one third up the football league, for God's sake stop holding out on the rest of us.

I'd suspect that most people who can do all that aren't going to have been sat around waiting for "the world renowned Oxford name" and a Council to say they'd start negotiating a lease as key missing pieces.

The whole stumbling block with previous owners was the Kassam wasn't worth buying, all previous owners were crying out for land to build a new stadium. Now we're in a position to submit planning on land that isn't costing us alot OUFC becomes alot more desirable to the next billionaire wanting a project.

I take mental health very seriously and have the utmost respect for Joey Beauchamp’s family so I hope this doesn’t cause any offence to anyone but I feel very uncomfortable about how the Joey Beauchamp night is going to be handled. Obviously the club are doing the right thing in marking the tragic anniversary and it’s a very important night for Joeys family. I hope I’m not being overly cynical but one of the few things that KR’s supporters still use in his favour is how it was perceived he handled the Joey situation and his beliefs on mental health, I just hope the club are sensible enough to keep KR in the background on all this. The evening must not get overshadowed. The timing just isn’t right for him to become the focal point again, gushing on the radio about mental health, and parading around the pitch.

This isn’t about him, it’s about a REAL club legend and being respectful to his family and shouldn’t be about strengthening somebody’s position.

As I say, I hope I haven’t caused any offence. It will be a poignant night but, with the current backdrop, the timing couldn’t be worse and I’m very uncomfortable about how it’s going to be handled and who is going to be the most prominent. I’m just respectfully asking the club this: there are other people at the club now that are in a position to handle the events so please leave KR to concentrate on coaching the team and keep him respectfully in the background. He doesn’t have to be the figurehead head and mouthpiece for the entire club anymore. He’s got a big enough mess to sort out, so I’d feel a lot more comfortable if he concentrated on that and somebody like Grant Ferguson or Tim Williams took the lead on the evening.

There is a question whether we are now dying anyway with this board. Bakrie was relatively active, before the takeover, but since the change from SB to the Triangle (known months before the announcement), absolutely nothing. I’d personally rather we start again than watch the horror show of today and the slow painful death we are experiencing as a consequence of what seems an uncommitted Board.

Thanks for the initial, substantial investment, but without long term commitment, it is a sword in our side!
There are certainly some questions around the overall management of the club given some departures/rumours around the day to day stuff but I think questioning whether we are dying under this ownership, is a tad dramatic in my view. Given some of the people brought in and the focus on the stadium, I think there are also been some positive things happening, none more than the stadium stuff. Using descriptions like the club dying is very OTT. I remember the period after Maxwell, Herd even Merry and co etc when we were at real risk of dying.

Well said. Words from Rosie on the PA, a minute of loud applause with some collection tins/card readers for the charity fund. Fans don't need to be told how to feel.

Can you remember a time where a majority of the fanbase felt so disconnected to the club like it currently is?

I've only been a supporter since 2002 so I can't comment on previous but the relegation to the conference felt like a new life had started, we took 2000 to Weymouth and sold out many away ends in that first season. If we get relegated this season or even stay up I can't see many except the die hards bothering next season.

The takeover by Bakrie and Thohir took so long fans lost interest. The SB project excited fans and then we find out months later that the council and the club have been working on the triangle which for some is a bit underwhelming (I know that's not the clubs fault)

Throw in the non existent marketing during pre season, the £10 to get a plastic season ticket, lack of signings, no fun day as promised, the kit not being available for the first game and the lack of ambition this season with a board sticking with a manager who would of been sacked weeks ago by every other league club.

We may not be dying but we're certainly not thriving either.

Karl Robinson is employed to manage the squad, not to organise the memorial of the sad loss of Joey. This should be done by the commercial team and the supporters. I have every respect for the need to understand the issues raised regarding mental health, especially in young men, but Karl Robinson has a job to do. A team of professionals that can give the right and proper respect on Tuesday evening should take control and ensure they keep Robinson far away from what they are planning for the evening.

Unfortunately KR has a personality where he just won’t be able to resist taking centre stage. One can only hope that he ‘reads the room’ and keeps a respectfully low profile.

The evening is going to be overshadowed now because the board failed to act decisively and do the right thing weeks ago. There could be a toxic backdrop and the attendance will be down. The board can try to ignore it but that doesn’t mean it won’t be true.

It’s such a shame for this to be about other things when it should all be about remembering a club legend and supporting his family.

The fault for that lies with a board that is failing in its duties as much as a failing manager.

The club will know how supporters feel about our manager from the phone ins, this forum, social media and unrest in the stands. Words aren't working so on Tuesday night try something more visual. Like when the ref blows his whistle at kick off we all fall silent and turn our backs to the pitch for 1 minute and then turn round with a huge Joey chant ending with Robbo Out.

The real driving force on mental health behind KR was his, now estranged, wife. Without her I suspect he wouldn't have a clue. If the club have any savvy they will, as you suggest, keep KR out of sight. I would hate for him to be given any limelight and have the attending supporters boo and cry for his head.
Of course, on the night, the loudest support will come from the 1400 plus Argyle supporters.

I keep telling you why

KR has a contract until 2024 ,the Board don’t want to pay him off until they absolutely have to it will cost them 400/500 k

They are hoping he will get another job
not a great plan then is it?
Getting relegated will cost money and whos going to hire a manager with a team thats losing games and dropping down the table?

I wonder what the meeting will be about today.

Well done Karl, good point on the road, and a point closer to where we need to be. Lots of desire and tenacity shown.

All those people chuckling away when I said the manager I would have here is Steve Cotterill, saying Karl was taking us to the promised land.

Not looking quite so smug now. A million times better manager than KR.
just shows how s**t this league is as Shrewsbury were absolute s**t when we played them, in fact then were no better than MK Dons.

My money is on "transition. " The groundwork was laid with the interview yesterday.

Execs love that kind of s**t.

They get results and make the best use of what they have. It's amazing the difference players in their right positions, who know their role, and a bit of tactical advice can make.

I should imagine it will be we are In a transition stage now we've gone from being a team looking to go up to a team looking to stay up that's transition 🤣🤣

In any org with a competent exec structure, if a manager is in a "transition" phase they would be expected to show the following..

1) from/to
2) why we are doing it
3) key outcomes/benefits
4) measurements/tracking and reporting
5) impact of not achieving/risks

I'm certain Tim (as CEO) Karl will have been asked to play this all back as part of the transition he spoke of so eloquently yesterday.
