Going to be like watching The Grand National from hereon in,.Clear over first few fences and you have got a chance

Park & ride at Oxford parkway,
Would have to be extended .not big enough for shopper's, day tripper's & footy fans aswell.
Maybe they could build a shingle surface overflow carpark behind it?
It would probably only need one narrow entrance with a height restrictor.

It’s about a 15 minute walking from one station to the other. But the walk does take you past the front door of 7 pubs. Some of which really are worth visiting these days. So allow a good hour 😉
Bicester North, Bicester Village is a 15 minute walk maximum and also there is a shuttle bus from the station to Bicester Village as well. Travel links to the new site from Bicester & surrounding Villages would be incredible, 10
Minutes max on the train to Ox parkway.

We are also now in a completely different era with a completely different set of rules and the wealthyist owners we have ever had plus the carbon free bit.
I know that,
It's the Oxford greenbelt negative not me.
That's why similar sized towns years ago.
Swindon, reading, nothhampton has dwarfed Oxford is because of negative nimbys, councilors, etc why our growth is where it's at.youve got to get past them. They won't make it Easy

It’s called a Brown Envelope

I see we’ve got a new rapid-fire Troll for the thread already. SN postcode perchance?
Watching oufc since 1967 didn't miss many matches home &away for years &years

I think I speak for everyone when I say all Oxford's problems could be solved by being more like Swindon, Reading and Northampton.

By then new East West rail link should be opened so my son can jump on at MK, I’ll jump on board at new Winslow station to join him them straight to Parkway for several beers before game. Makes all the road closures, collapsing bridges, pot holes, dodge the tipper trucks, etc all worth it! (Unlike HS2 crapiness). [emoji481] [emoji481]
Oxford to MK is due to be open by spring 2024, so I might hop on to that too. Although, probably more expensive to pay for parking at MK and return train fare than the cost of fuel (18 mile shorter round trip than currently) and finding a free parking spot within walking distance of SB. Also, much more hassle... and still wouldn't be able to drink much due to having to get in the car back at MK.

Everyone moaning about lack of parking at the site have you forgot what the Manor was like? I would hope the match day experience will be better so I could get to ground for 12 and have plenty to do to fill the time , that would solve half the traffic problems if everyone wasnt trying to get there for 2.50pm.

Not sure people are moaning really. Just observing that however green you want to be, there are some of us (non-locals plus away fans) for whom public transport isn't a realistic option so *some* provision has to be (and undoubtedly will be) made.

Put it this way, I very rarely drink alcohol before or during football matches due to the need to drive from Bicester area. Now if I could, I would gladly buy one or two pints per game. I also rarely buy food inside the ground because historically I refused to give any more money to Ka$$am than necessary.

That's approximately £4 x 2 + £5 = £13 per game. I have had 5 season tickets since 2010 and the seasons where I haven't I have attended roughly 7 games per season. So let's say approximately 23 x 5 + 7 x 7 = 164 games, 164 x £13 = £2,132 that the club has missed out on from just me alone in the last 12 years because of not owning facilities and poor public transport links.

I wonder how many of our supporters can say something similar?

I know it's usual to concentrate on the people who may be against this proposal, but it's also worth pointing out the massive support this is going to have from those outside of OUFC...as after all this project is more than just a stadium for OUFC.

You've got both Kidlington Cricket Club and Gosford All Blacks supporting the project as they've both been promised upgraded facilities. Ice Hockey stadium with perhaps Oxford City Stars relocating? Local pubs booming on matchdays and overall massive investment into the area can only be a good thing for jobs and the local economy.

Now of course the Council will need to ensure that this is done properly, you've got to think that with a multi-million pound oversees investment into the area, they are going to be rubbing their hands?

When CM or CB were talking about a new ground , what capacity did it need to be suitable for Championshop standard attendances ? Was it 18 or 24k?

Or was I thinking Kassam + west stand = 18k, then either north stand more seats and fill in the corners = 24k.

Ok it’s a long way down the line and the current footprint map is presumably just indicative and not set in stone.

Yup. New and improved facilities supported by local sports clubs and associations, relocation of professional sports teams opening up development potential at their previous “homes” which would benefit councils desperate for development opportunities, many new jobs to benefit the local economy and a plethora of transport links and travel hubs already on the doorstep. There is a lot going for it and I suspect that given how long this has been going on already in the background, the people who matter have already indicated that they’re going to back this. The people the club has working on it all aren’t going to waste their time on a coin flip, let alone millions of their own money supporting the club in the meantime. They didn’t get rich that way, and they haven’t stayed rich by chasing duffers. It’s happening for a reason.

It seems likely to me that there would be increased trains on match days (just as there already is on that same line when there are events at Wembley), football special park and ride buses from different towns across the county (as has often been the case at the wind tunnel anyway), and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a water taxi added with the Oxford canal running down the side of the site.

And of course, the nearby airport so that I can fly in to pick up the Hooters girls.

Clueless!!! We're stuck as a university town, that councilors bow down to every one of there demands.
as a city for working class locals it's awful 😘

18,000 was the figure I arrived at Mark, based on very extensive research of similar clubs who had moved to new stadiums.

Interesting that our new stadium is proposed to be.......................... 18,000 ;)

Kassam + West Stand would make it 15k. Fill in four corners approx 21k .
