All this talk of Shandon coming back on loan, surely Brentford would look at loaning him to a championship club rather than a league 1 club now they are premier league? Also I’m not sure we actually need him.
My point precisely Steve. Doubt he would want to take 2 steps back, 6 months in the championship and he would be better prepared for the prem in jan

I think realistically Shannon won’t play in the PL this season, would be asking a serious amount having just come back from a serious injury a loan would be best for him get out and play as much as possible.

So he’s good enough for the Championship and yet an upper-mid L1 team don’t need him? Something doesn’t add up there

When I dropped this in 😎 I din't think it would cause so much entertainment. Yes he's good enough for the championship ? How much has he played in it ? And of course we would find a starting role and that is the thing you've got to play to get fit and he knows the club . That would be more important . I don't think it will happen ,I hope he goes onto be a fantastic player in the premier League and gets sold for millions. Best wishes to him

I think people are forgetting just how good and exciting he was. Captaining the side against Man City, a game in which we had more shots on target than the best team in the country? His goal against West Ham? Lincoln? Hartlepool?

He was a proper talent.

An excellent player but he was captain against Man City the year before the season we had the most shots etc was the following year

But what championship team would want someone that hasn’t even shown he can
Play at that level?

I’d be extremely surprised if Shandon came back here. I personally don’t see it happening, and rightly so. We have enough in midfield, a winger is all that’s needed there.

The club were absolutely right to sell him. Yes he was great, and his composure and the way he glided with the ball was something to watch. That being said he’s too injury prone, and it’s a shame for him, but to come back here on loan imo is fantasy.

Would be an odd one for his development. But would understand him wanting this move for other reasons.

I get the feeling that this was what KR was moaning about at OC. Wonder if JS has asked for the move. Speculation btw.

Would not blame Jack at all for wanting the move. Would get a huge pay rise and be back up to the best keeper in the premier league last season.

I am sure if Jack had the choice he would go , if Easty hadn’t dropped off in form last season he would still first choice, the experience of premiership football for a home grown footballer is hard to get, Make the most of it

He would certainly go if we let him, what an opportunity! It would be a real shame for us but it would be mean to hold him to his contract. How much could we get for him?

What would he earn as back up prem goalkeeper? Whatever the exact figure is he will be gone if they put an offer in for him and I can’t blame him, it will be a life changing move financially.
Strange one for a prem club though, can’t see it happening.

Probably just speculation, but if Jack is ambitious, happy to move and going as the number 2, he would jump at the chance.
Increased wages, get to train in better surroundings with better players, visit all the top clubs and play in the minor cup competitions.
If he hasn’t broken into the team in two years off to a Championship side, failing that we’d welcome him back as Easty’s understudy 😊

Doubt this has anything to do with Karl’s gripe at CPF.

Apparently Palace have also been sniffing around and I believe we told them a figure that put them off. When SE was given 3 more years I suspected this might happen.

As I've just said on his thread, villa already have Martinez, Jed steer, and I think two very highly rated u23 keepers at the club.

JS would not be #2 there any time soon and in truth would more likely disappear into obscurity pretty quickly
