Karl’s frustration is clearly with the board. He wouldn’t make the comments he’s made and saying we can talk about it in a couple of weeks if it was related to other clubs madness, it’s internal.Wycombe will have a few quid in the bank from last season, plus we have a pay structure that the board won't be willing to break. Bringing someone in on £100k more than Taylor, Henry, Brannagan etc can unsettle the squad.
Robinson may not be frustrated with the board, more the way clubs are being reckless. It's only a few months ago that clubs were begging for financial support and now some are paying out £10k a week on just one player. I wouldn't want or expect Oxford to be going anywhere near those kind of deals, but they do filter down and bog standard players will suddenly expect bigger pay deals.
It will mean that we miss out on players or are forced to wait by playing hard ball. It's frustrating as hell, but the alternative is far worse.
