Please let's not start signing players with a long and recurring injury history. I don't want a player who *starts* the season with 'probably won't be able to play every match' next to his name - all that means is 'we expect his injury to recur'.

OK - any player *can* be out through injury - signing one who is *expected* to be is daft.

Quite, we have got enough of them in our squad already!
I do hope Long, McGuane, Winnall, Mousinho go the distance this time.

Think it means we are cutting our cloth to suit our budget .
All of those named players will want to move to the Championship and the wages offered there .
Our aim is the Championship so we have to compete with clubs having bigger budgets than ours.

I do like our model of finding young talent and selling on if we miss out on promotion, this does not mean signing crocks or some of the players we seem to be now considering!

Stevens
Long Moore Atkinson _____
Brannagan Gorrin McGuane
Williams Taylor _____

Eastwood, McNally, Mousinho, Hanson, Clare, Sykes, Henry, Cooper, Aygei, Winnall

Let's stop pretending like we are in a bad position. If anything we are in one of League 1's strongest positions.

He needs a chance. Just like Jack Stevens did. If he’s not good enough he needs to be released. He’s not a kid.
Yes he does he had a chance to show his mettle in the P**s pot trophy game he played in. Most of the time he had the ball and when th opposition came towards him he turned and Kate’s it back to Jones. I’m not saying he won’t be any good as he wouldn’t still be here what I want to see from him is to take the ball forward and if he has to skim the opponent’s rather than always the safe way and pass back. And before you say anything I know we do it and sometimes we put ourselves in jeopardy, and I don’t think he’s ready for that another season and possibly he could be knocking at the door.

Haven’t watched him many times then because that exactly what he does..

How many games have you seen him play?

He’s a very athletic modern day full back. Would love him to be given a go in preseason.
A few times when he has come on it started. Yes he needs to play most of preseason and then to look at him.

It would be nice for a change to be linked with the best players the league has to offer:
Piggott, Grant, Dale, Kirk, Camps, Bishop, Charles, Fraser, Tucker etc rather than resigning past players/Crocks/Homesick Irishmen or players that have played for KR before.
Does this suggest our recruitment strategy is somewhat unfolding and becoming a bit desperate now?
If we were promoted we could look at these players.
Most will go to the Championship.
Signing 'homesick Irishmen. What a ridiculous comment

How do you know who the club are considering ?
Harrison seems to be one. What us tour criticism.of him?
A quality left back as back up to the number 1 left back ( and Elechi one year older).
Maybe Gavin Whyte.
What is wrong there?

Jordan Stewart didn't settle at Swindon after moving from Ireland as a 20 year old. He's now 26 so absolutely no reason why he wouldn't be better able to handle a move away from home, especially with the likes of Sykes and Cooper here.

Ellis Harrison will be fit for the beginning of the season and unlikely to suffer the affects of his injury.

But what about Gavin Whyte? What's the issue with him?

Or Connor Ogilvie?

We just have to acquire them now that’s all

Wish I had your confidence! Ellis Harrison is 27 yrs old and has suffered a possible career ending injury.
We have signed Williams to play RW do we need Whyte to cover that position given his high wages?
Ogilvie wants Championship football and the wages to match.

30 years ago perhaps. Now this is fairly straight forward surgery and recovery time which will mean that he'll be ready for light training already and not far behind others in preseason.
