Exactly. I highly doubt if he was offered to the whole of League 2, they’d all reject him
 
For context, Scunthorpe released 17 players including a number of their better players last season.

Their local paper sums up the situation as

"Now begins a massive rebuilding job, made all the more difficult by the fact that the club will be operating on a much smaller budget than in previous years."

If they could have afforded to keep him, they'd have offered Bedeau a contract, there's no argument about that. Whether or not he could step up to League One right now, who knows.

I would rather have Sanderson as our CB than Mcguane in all fairness.

My point is we can’t really compete with the likes of Sunderland not only in transfers but wages and our lack of ambition regarding Bedeau is disappointing.
He wasn’t Scunthorpe player or supporters player of the year he didn’t make L2 team of the season and his contract has not been renewed for whatever reason.

It seems odd to me that many of our fans welcome this potential signing as a show of intent in our pursuit of the Championship.

Well so would I, considering McGuane is a midfielder 🙄

It isn't that simple though surely?
We brought in the great Matt Elliott from Scunthorpe from memory.
We brought in Tommy Caton and Chris Wilmott who played at a higher level and didn't work out as well as you would have hoped for.
Most clubs in L1 will look to the lower leagues for a 'gem". Pompeys first signing in the summer is likely to be a bonus league player who Cowley knows.
We have already brought in a player from the Championship.
We won't be spending £2m on a player but neither did Hull or Blackpool last season.

Don’t forget we have young McNally, and he’s developing nicely by all accounts. So when called upon he will slot in nicely, and it helps he’s been training with the first team a while, just like Atkinson did.
 
Sunderland are welcome to spunk all up the walls if they like, then we can all laugh when they f*ck it up again next year

Would be a great player to compliment Taylor, strong, quick and chips in with some goals. Need Robinson to go all Scouse and convince big dunc to let us have him

Phil Gilchrist came from Hartlepool as well
 
I’d be surprised if we were interested in Bedeau tbh, we’ve got three centre backs and Mous will play JPT. That he’s still being discussed based on one rumour that didn’t seem to be based on anything shows how quiet things are. Thought the same about Digby being reported in the Ox Mail.
