In all likelihood, the tie is already over, however it's one final game of football in a season that we have managed to extend by two more matches than Portsmouth and Charlton have. I doubt we'll see a third at Wembley but you never know. A famous night in our history may well take place tonight ...

Let's enjoy it and go out with a bang. There was hysterical levels of whining after the first leg. We were disappointing but we weren't 'embarrassing' or 'abysmal' as some of the drama queens on here seemed to think we were. Simply beaten by a side that had a number on our weakenesses, more physical nous and who take great pleasure in not conceding goals. In football terms, there's not a great difference between the sides. In game management, watchful and organised Blackpool were miles ahead of the fun but gung ho Oxford.

I don't agree that we were either 'fun' or 'gung ho' in the first leg. I thought we were a bit dull (lots of slow side to side) and very conservative in how we tried (or maybe were allowed) to play.

I am hoping for more gung ho-ness tonight!

I should have clarified that was over the season. We scored lots, we let in lots. Blackpool effectively stopped our gung-honess with their high press so removed our key strength.

In the first leg we showed a lack of invention. The game tactics were not working as evidenced by the inability to pass the ball forward. Hanson and Ruffs went forward expecting passes which could not be played. The forwards (on occasions, in a line) waited for anything to reach them. It was static. We needed the midfield to change and come back for the ball. Brannagan on his own just increased the side to side, back and hoof play. No criticism of any individual just the tactic they employed. That's why I would advocate starting Agyei as a strong ball winner and hold up player for when there is no passing route forward. With Barker's ability to take on opposing players (and often beat them) we do have a route forward but he can't do that from our own box!
An in form Henry with the energy and tenacity of Sykes gives us a midfield that should have Blackpool back pedalling. An off form Henry and it falls apart.
Tayls will put away most chances, if he gets any. In other words, a team performance, midfield to come for the ball not wait and see.
Losing Brannagan (potentially) is a blow, Gorrin is the obvious replacement but not the same passer that makes Brannagan better.
Forde for Hanson makes sense although neither bring sufficient skill to the role. At least Forde is a good dead ball crosser. Hanson is just too hot and cold for my liking. Toss up between Shodipo and Lee. On their day both have talent, both can make a difference. One to start, the other to replace after 60 minutes?

I can't see us pulling a 3-0 deficit back but, at the very least, I expect the team to show us what they can really do when they try.

Was thinking of having this for dinner. Could make it angrier with a bit of chilli. I think the tangerine might get overwhelmed by the angry crab, though.

1-6 COYY

Going to be very tough for you tonight.

Need to just attack from the start and hope you get an early goal. Dont let them settle in to a rhythm.

I would guess they are going to try and attack for the first 20 an then sit back.

I have a feeling there will be 3 goals tonight with at-least 2 for you. But not sure about the 3rd will be in the last 10. But no idea what way it will go.

Ha ha, I avoided this place for a couple of days after Tuesday! I couldn't face all the recriminations, gloating, and arguments. Hopefully will be a bit calmer after tonight.

Got to start with Shodipo and Agyei Ive noticed how they like to link up on the few occasions they have been on the pitch together. Will give blackpool some different problems to solve,we cannot start with the same attack again.
I disagree. We need 3 goals and I am not sure how you can go into a game without Matt Taylor. I would also prefer Barker to Shodipo.
To have any chance we have to defend far more like we did against Burton than against Blackpool at home. And we have to take all of our chances (Sykes, Henry )

Looks like a few yellows had dreams about this game, for me i went into the garden and 1 of my dogs had turned
into a lioness, the other a Hyena, not sure wtf thats all about but hey ho..

KR mentioned in his post match interview after the 1st leg that he had seen it, said the same in the pre match interview
for tonights game, i really hope he is talking about how we can turn over Blackpool and not that he is a born again bible
basher that`s seen the light.

Anyway, stay cool, stay calm, go in at half time with a 1 goal lead and its game on.

My prediction. 4-1, we win on pens. Taylor gets his 19th and 20th goals of the season. Henry scores a worldy and Lee a tap in. At full time it is announced Kassam has died and on his deathbed has left the stadium to a supporters Trust. Hanson scores a bicycle kick in the 89th minute to beat Lincoln in the final. Building work starts on a forth stand the following day. KR is knighted. Tiger is given a sainthood. MApp becomes my personal trainer. In a fit of passion my wife invites Rachel Riley to live with us and the three of us live happily ever after in a beautiful yellow haze.

Alternatively, Blackpool park the bus and it ends 0-0 and my wife goes to bed without even doing the washing up.

Earlier this season when we were struggling a bit KR said it was to take the handbrake off, tonight we have to throw the entire contents of the coach down to the body shell out of the window ,that should do it , not sure how they will get home , it’s a long way on a donkey borrowed from the beaches

WE score in the first 20 mins
We get a second just after half time
They get one back soon after
WE then get a third........

Can I just say that I have met Rachel Riley and she is just as fit as she looks on telly - and nice!

You lucky, lucky man!! Did you manage to convince her to ditch Man United to follow the mighty U's? I'll happily give her my half time chocolate biscuit in the 1893...
