Wasn't a fan of Long but hes improved massively. Ruffles imo just is not good enough for top 6 league one side.
I can agree on that to an extent. Ruffs is a solid L1 full back, but is limited mostly by the fact he was trained as a CM initially. Love the guy but can't see him making an impact at Championship level. Long on the other hand I think has the attributes to do well up to lower mid table Championship level.

I would much rather us sign a 'proper' LB and put ruffles in a holding position / LB back up.

Robinson will be given one more season especially if we get financial backing
The good thing about missing out on the playoffs is that he can
1 Experiment with the young players for the rest of the season
2 Work out who he needs and get it done

If by the turn of the year we are in the bottom half look towards someone new and let them bring in new players

Look at the Crowley brothers at Pompey and how they have turned it round , wouldn’t surprise me to see them go up

Can't agree. This is a division with many clubs that are bigger than OUFC with much bigger budgets. Mid table is about right. Play off final last season was over achieving.
So you know we have a mid table budget, when some talk of top 8.

We obviously need to improve in lots of positions, but players who can cover cover mulitple positions and still put in half decent performances are often overlooked. As much as you need to spend big on the main positions, we need to hang on to players like Sam Long and Anthony Forde, they've been crucial for covering all sorts of positions this season and very rarely having a bad game. In Sam Longs case he's been brilliant all season.

Agreed. Very adequate player and decent utility backup, but bringing in a promotion quality LB should be one of the priorities in the summer.
Don’t know why people are quibbling about Ruffels, he would have improved us today though Hanson did quite well. The problem was the fact that we lined up with five attacking players floating around, with the most dangerous one recently on the bench, and couldn’t keep the ball or stop giving away free kicks. Accrington were a bunch of cheats but it was up to the ref to stop that - he should have booked the first guy to kick the ball away.

Seems to happen after every loss, most the team become non league quality despite challenging for promotion after 90% of the season is played even after a terrible start, and some become the next messiah even if they haven't played much or have been poor in the past (Clare and apparently the entire youth team). Agree that Hanson did well too, becoming a useful little backup option, even if he does have his dodgy moments.

Hes not the messiah but I would have liked to see Agyei at CF after an hour if not before. However today wasn’t about individuals, it was a collective and managerial failure. It would have been a real bank holiday downer if we’d been allowed to attend, of the sort that we often suffer.

The only one that was non league today was Robbo with his line up and tactics . We have a decent league 1 team minus Grayson, Kelly, Winnal that could walk in to any other team. Robbo is just lucky we had the 7 match winning run otherwise we would be in a right relegation scrap.

Are there any dreamers out there? That’s those who think we can still make the play offs. Drop Taylor start Lofthouse, drop the midfield that’s those who suppose to play in midfield and start Chambers Parillion, and Fabio Sole, Sorry Jamie but Elechi needs to start and possibly Jones and McNally we have f**k all to lose now.
I wouldn’t, keep at it and build for next season.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s now very highly unlikely that we will make the okay offs, but whilst there’s still a chance I want us to go for it rather than write the season off NOW.

Bazzer you’re like a pendulum, from one extreme to the other, but no in-between.
