That rather large steward at the front also had his mask incorrectly fitted but then you’d have a hard time getting that close to his face, who ate all the pies😳

Near the front towards the centre.
I was near the front but just to the right of the goal and I was chatting with my mate who is in our bubble outside of football but not in football, not sure whether that was us or not

Gorrin superb again. We used to take for granted his defensive nous, breaking up play, filling in gaps, but this season he seems to have improved his passing and vision when going forwards. He is making the team tick in the absence of Brannagan, and as someone pointed out, having Hanson behind him later gave him the opportunity to attack effectively. MoM

What a thoroughly enjoyable second half. Northampton set themselves up to be a hard nut to crack so battering them into submission was doublely impressive. I just hope we can carry this forward.

Great to be back in the ground. Everything operated smoothly where I was sat and it felt very safe. Thank you and well done to all the staff at the club.

Very enjoyable last night especially second half. I know Northampton were pretty awful but they are the sort of team we have struggled to put to bed this season.
we looked solid at the back and didn’t let them settle on the ball anywhere on the pitch. Some great performances, sam Long, Matty Taylor, James Henry, but my Man of the Match was Alex Gorrin
the 2,000 played their part in urging the team forward in that second half.
A great night for the OUFC family

Gorrin my MOTM, closely followed by Sam Long.

To be fair, the only players who had anything less than superb games were Kelly, Ruffels and Henry (and they were all ok)

I thought Ruffels was just as good as anybody except maybe Long, Gorrin and Moore.
Hit the post in the first half, good in attack and defence.
People seem to have a real downer on him?

When Gorrin plays well, we all play well!

Said that all last season and this is no different. He was my player of the season last year. His absence at the start of the season had a massive bearing on how the campaign started and that, coupled with being paper thin in other departments (#cough, cough#centre back) and consequently playing others out of position is largely why we are where we are.

The signs have been there in the last few games and despite it being no win in the previous 6 games, the performances since Ipswich have been mostly going in the right direction. Our defence has become meaner and collectively and individually they have become stronger and more organised (Gorrin again has a massive influence on this, but also take nothing away from Stevens' influence too). It gave us the perfect platform and last night, for 45 minutes, admittedly against very weak opposition, the loudest sound in Oxfordshire was our team finally clicking on the pitch!

I too was impressed by the way the subs aquitted themselves. OK, so Clare was forced but he is so much better goig forward....please let him play there more!
IT should be a real sign of hope an optimism for the rest of the season, because we know how they can perform and, moreover, we are now seeing players settling into regular positions and that familiarity and confidence will only grow. If we can stay clear of injuries to our tiny squad and possibly do a bit of housekeeping in January (#centre back & left back please#)....then who knows??

Reasons to be cheerful......;)

The only disappointment for me tonight were the people in the East stand who don’t seem able to grasp the fact that a face covering should cover the mouth and nose, not just the mouth; what is the point of wearing one?
And the two blokes from separate bubbles chatting a metre from each other at half time having removed their masks?
And the stewards who say they can challenge someone if they’re not wearing a mask, but can’t challenge anyone if they’re wearing a mask over their mouth, even if it doesn’t cover their nose as well?
Friend of mine, fittest bloke I know, absolutely poleaxed by Covid this week after his daughter brought it home from her school.
I’ve had a right f*****g rant at people tonight and it’s aimed at every arrogant or lazy prick who thinks that Covid is going away.
Great second half by the way, deserved winners.
I was sat in the middle of what was going on and it all seemed unnecessary and frustrating. A number of people shuffled along a seat or two for comfort, which they obviously shouldn't have done and on top of that, some of them near the back choose either to take off their masks temporarily, or not wear them properly. The stewards didn't spot this until the second half and then asked people to move.

The people asked to move then objected, having sat there for an hour already and a load of abuse was slung at the stewards, particularly virulent from two youngish blokes who were actually nothing to do with the altercation. To make it worse, the senior steward wasn't actually wearing his mask properly. It didn't reflect well on anybody - either the people who choose not to follow the rules or the stewards who weren't really paying attention.

Turned down tickets last night due to grandsons school night and at half time thought that was a good decision. Then, after watching the second half, wished I could have been there.
The joy of being an Oxford fan I suppose?!

did you have to replace the mice in the wheel that powers it
reckon they were probably self-isolating? ;)

.... had an issue of some sort with my internet service- and with wifi/broadband (still) not available at the breeze block ,( or for that matter a signal boost?), I had to do without internet for yesterday eve.... all seems ok today- especially after watching the game live last night, Im still grinning like the proverbial Chesire cat after that superb 2nd half performance

Bloody kids and their WiFi issues 😂

Disappointing to hear. Even with the best will in the world not everything was going to go 100% smoothly. What will be key is what the club learn from this.
