General Radox 5 minute Forum

Whilst not being overjoyed with this news but without knowing the real figures it's difficult to criticise too much.

Now for some positive spin;

Fosu has lost a little bit of form in the past month
Baptiste hadn't featured heavily until CB and JH got injured
We have Thorne and Kelly to cover midfield

Like i said not saying this is good just trying to grab some positives from bad news.

Edit - Also we've only had Fosu for half a season and made a potentially big profit on him whereas Baptiste cost us nothing so again all profit

January transfer window:
Baptistes agent spoke to Brentford then Baptiste spoke to the board to say what a good move it was for him,
Club made a club record transfer bid for Cadden.
Club made a bid for a player from Sunderland which would make him the highest wage earner at the club. Accepted by head of recruitment but rejected by Sunderland manager.
Club agreed with Liverpool for right back who was then needed when they remained in the Fa Cup

Talks going on, regret setting a deadline, announcement will be when there is news

Singha beer in hospitality hoping to get in in the concourses but up to Farrs.

No plans for a director of football ?

I'm guessing that was Neco WIlliams then from Liverpool.

We already have Mark Thomas as head of recruitment, at our level do we really need a D.O.F. as well?
Went over and above and excelled himself at the end of the January window in recruiting full back(s) and a striker didnt Mark Thomas ?....and until tues night 2020 has been a brilliant run of results over 6weeks ? ..... no he didnt, and no it wasnt

Whether a director of football would have made a difference or not we'll never know

But maybe the head of recruitment should be advance recruiting now in time for the close season in readiness for the big rebuild thats likely to be needed?

Is it worth listening to? Thats a genuine question before people get too aggressive. Not having a dig. Just wondering if anything has been said that we haven't already heard.

For me personally, Im going to attempt to cut out all the ‘white noise‘ from now until the summer. Support the team on the pitch however I can and see where we end up. Im not expecting any big news off the pitch, but if any announcements are made Im sure we’ll all hear them without having to search too hard.

He also said there will be a bid for Dickie or Cameron in the summer.

Why do we need a DOF? IMO you have one when the board don’t fully trust the manager and in turns under mines the manager. I can’t see Robinson ever buying into the idea and why should he? So far Robbo has proved he is more than capable to take this club forward and you won’t find a manager at this level so invested in the whole set up at the club.
As a club I don’t think we are in a bad place at all on the pitch. We could still make play offs and at the start of the season I think most fans would take that, especially when you think how well we’ve done in the cups.
Off it then I think we are in the best that is possible, money has come in from transfers which we need. Profit from the cup runs, some good attendances in the season. Seem to be on a better foot with kassam, training ground sorted, Eales paid off. No winding up orders
If you gave me all that and a top 10 finish at the start of the season I would of laughed in your face.

It’s a good time to be an oufc fan and I think this has been a brilliant season with the potential to be an excellent season.

Can't believe that Tiger fell for my spin with the way he described the Stephen O'Donnell and Will Grigg potential deals? He only needed to look at so many on here saying that I was talking horseshit to know he'd look foolish to copy me!!!

He wanted Steve Gallen. Openly said so to me and another person at the training ground less than 18 months ago. So I’m going to say given he specifically named who he wanted, openly and in person, that you’re wrong there.
I wonder what his opinions are on a realistic target for the DOF role.
