The Stadium.....the clock is ticking.

Couple of replacements mooted so far for Bob Price are Alex Hollingsworth, who watches a lot of OUFC games and does seem to get things done and Linda Smith, who amongst all the frustration I've had with the Rink, has been focussed and dilligent in trying to get problems solved.

Both, hopefully will prove to be brilliant for the City.

Sounds encouraging and it's possible that someone free from the baggage from previous encounters with Kassam may make more headway? Let's hope the announcement is made soon and we can make sure we are one of the first items to hit their in tray.

I don’t think anyone has ever said we shouldn’t look at other options. In fact I have said previously our best option was to buy the Kassam/agree a better deal while still looking at other options for the future.

I still think that currently the Kassam is the best option, mainly because there are no others on the table. There is no planning hurdles to get over, green belt to negotiate, it’s there and needs a deal with one person to sort it.
That possibly might never happen.

But maybe if we hadn’t spent the last 3 years being led to believe WE was the dream ticket, when in reality all it was, was a farmer willing to sell. With not even a nod from the local council they would allow it, then we might be further down the line of finding an actual viable option

And who's been completely focused on WE for 3 years, and why haven't the club, councils and to a much lesser extent OxVox been pushing for other options?

Who’s been completely focused [emoji848] who did a study on the site including costing, who found a land owner willing to sell? Who spent 3 years telling everyone they were thick, biased or committing a dereliction of duty for not taking WE seriously, (despite the fact Oxvox had looked at it, and held meetings with the local council to be told it was a non starter) . Who had “emails”, who simply forgot to ask the local council If it was even feasible . The Club possibly should have been looking at options, but how can Oxvox or councils push for other options if the clubs owners were not interested at the time? And that’s not just Darryl but also Ian, who was being advised by you know who but still also thought the Kassam was the best option.

But at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, it’s about what happens now. I still think there is an opportunity with Kassam but probably not until any takeover is sorted, and then will still be along the lines of what Oxvox we’re working towards. And also possibly on the land opposite if all sides start working together. But as with WE it will involve getting the go ahead from sodc before anyone gets their hopes up

Sorry I know I have disagreed with Oxvox in the past and it is not personal, but why oh why do you bother with those muppets at OCC and yet again Kassam is dictating he has no time for OUFC or the fans or Oxvox he is entertaining Oxvox and OCC just to appease them and the rest of the supporters. Now will OCC take legal action against Kassam over the state of the Priory and will OCC come out and tell us why they allowed that t**t to build another hotel while the Priory is left to ruin.

I think the problem is that even if permission is denied he uses his lawyers to appeal and win's planning permission regardless.

That would be interesting with the infrastructure one road in one road out a very narrow bridge to leave the over flow car park of which what parking would there be for the new residents

You don’t think there would be an access Rd onto the leys? I doubt they would just build a load of houses and leave the rest of site as is.

Won’t leave much room if they did and surely knights road won’t be the easiest to put an access road onto falcon close would be interesting but with a corrupt city council anything is possible.

I don’t think it’s just the overflow carpark but other adjoining sites as well including where the school currently sits. I don’t know but doubt u could have access to houses through what it technically a privately owned carpark. So a Rd would have to go out that way, or maybe behind the priory/hotel onto Grenoble somewhere

If he has to build a round out by the back of the Priory that’s going to cost the tight t**t But still think there would be problems as there is a back entrance to the science park near the edge of The overflow car park which means I would think all that land up to Grenoble road is college owned which unless there are also student accommodation included in Kassams plan will they allow it or even sell that land.

Maybe this is what bob price was talking about in the difficulties with the site for infrastructure. Something he said the council could help with if there was also help the other way with the stadium situation

Wouldn’t trust Bob price one iota.

I'm sure if and when it comes to it Bazza they will work out where to put a road. It's actually a really open site compared to many.
As for your constant claim that the council is corrupt, do you actually have any proof or is it just something you decided? I have a healthy mistrust of most politicians but it seems a bit much to claim the whole council is on the take, just because they haven't sorted out our stadium for us.

I’m not sure if the exact wording but Kassam shouldn’t have got the stadium it was supposed to be for a community group allowing that t**t to have the manor and then allow him to ruin Oxford, and yes I stand by what I’ve said they’re corrupt all the student accomodation they’re allowed, and they cant sort out housing for local people, or setting the price for the new houses in Barton park at very excessive prices, or allowing developers to get away with the policy of 50%!of all new developments to low cost housing, yeh right they’re not corrupt.

If I can get a one bedroom apartment for only £299 I think I might invest £30,000 and buy a hundred of them. I should make a killing when I re-sell them!
