Especially playing on the left of mid which isn't his favoured position. One of those days , massive handball or we go in 0-0 as well as a host of chances missed .
Tend to agree. I'm not too worried about tonight. In terms of Sykes, I haven't seen much criticism of him on here.

James Henry. What is he now? He isn’t an effective, quick winger and on tonight’s performance, he’s neither a ball winning midfielder or a playmaker. I think he’s in big trouble when McGuane is fit again.

Rob Hall. It’s been emotional but quite simply, he’s just not good enough anymore and arguably, hasn’t been for 18 months.

Mark Sykes. I’m a big fan of his but I think tonight’s performance goes some way to demonstrate why Robinson has been sparse with his use of Sykes so far this season. He needs to add consistency to be a major player for us (and higher up the pyramid).

Despite the question marks tonight, if Taylor scores the penalty I’m confident we go on to win the game. To counter my counter argument though, I would argue that we haven’t been particularly convincing in the last 3 games.

We’ve a huge month coming up.
The only position I think Henry can play anymore is as a wide midfielder with someone at RB who has outright pace. We don't play like that with our current team so I really can't see how he gets in the starting 11

Someone mentioned it only fair that Hall started in this game... I could not disagree more with that statement, he is hopeless and as you have said, has been for 18 months or so, I am still just so puzzled as to why he got an extra years contract. He wouldn't even make the bench in my team.

I think it's hard to criticise Sykes today when he was part of a midfield in both Henry and Gorrin that were absolutely bypassed by Tranmere and largely nowhere to be seen.

My main concern is that our performances have been below par in the last few games and while I'd take winning ugly over playing well and losing, we can't keep pulling it out of the bag every game so really need to start turning up for games, especially from the start.

As long as this does not effect our league form I am not bothered. The boys just need to forget this one write if off like it never happened and on to the next one.

With Pompey losing tonight and Ipswich only managing a draw it's good for us.

Game In hand over all of those above us bar donny..

Forget

I agree the league more important and get ready for Saturdays game against Ipswich COYY

So why do they miss them if they shouldn't?
Arrogance, indecision, poor technique, I’m sure there are plenty of other reasons, almost entirely within the takers control.
But they have daily training, coaching and opportunities to practice , based on skills that most of us don’t, so hitting a top or bottom corner every time really should be within their control.

Ref Darren Drysdale at Portman Road tonight.

Ipswich had their best player red carded in the 90 min in a drab goalless draw with Northampton.

Surprised about the criticism of Sykes from some. Considering he's been brought in from the cold and asked to play a lot of minutes in two consecutive matches, I thought he was okay (at the very least he was no where near one of our worst performers).
He wasn’t at his best tonight but certainly wasn’t the only one and last Saturday he deserved the MOM award

Does that mean he’s suspended on Saturday?

That's Judge in the photo, Downes was the one sent off, and it was for 2 yellows, which I don't think you can appeal.

Hence why it was good that Atkinson got a straight red at Lincoln, rather than a 2nd yellow, we were able to appeal and it got overturned.

Edit: BBC are now showing it as a straight red, so they could appeal.

National TV? I don’t think many outside Oxon and a small part of Merseyside will have been watching!

Add in the 6pm kick off I can't even see the audience being half of the play off final or the Fa Cup game against Newcastle last year.

Even the final of this trophy doesn't attract huge audiences.

Im not downhearted but christ that was utter dog s**t. Tranmere were just better on the night and they deserve to play at Wembley.

I have no idea what @bazzer9461 on about I'm his other half & he's up to date with Emmerdale & he never missed a episode & even records it!!🤣 He watches it more than me! 🤣

So Suez, has Mandy's other half orchestrated his own kidnapping, to get the £4000 from Liv, to pay the real people he owes money to?

Oh so you watch it as well 😁 I think Paul has orchestrated it but have to wait for next episode 🤔 😁

Doesn’t that also apply to our main goal scorer Taylor because on tonight showing he couldn’t hit a cows a**e with banjo
Scored 11 so far this season and on another day, he would have finished the game with 4 goals Sometimes, that’s just how the game goes. Taylor is there to score goals and he does that. I can forgive him for being less than excellent tonight. Come back to me when it’s 20+ games..
