We’ve been out priced for Kerr. But interested in a new championship side defender on a perm, or a new prem side centre back on loan.

That's pretty much all we need. For all the moaning earlier this week about how uncompetitive we were looking, and now once Whyte is in, we're just two signings away from a really impressive squad.

I think more people were complaining about the speed than the ambition from what it looked like. From the sounds of it the Seddon deal was held up for a week or two, but it's still a little bit disappointing we've not yet sourced an Atkinson replacement with it being just under a month since he left. But if we do bring in what UTO is suggesting then it'd be a good window for us with no glaring gaps in the squad.

Important comparison. We definitely have to aim for less this year. 6 is too many and causes us problems in terms of continuity going into a new season.

4 is a good number, especially if we can keep them (eg Mcguane).

Loans play a vital role though and are a chance to bring in top quality that might otherwise be unavailable.
