I was on the home terrace that day, late out the pub and couldn't be arsed to walk round the allotments. Went ape when Mickey scored at that endWatford away, when we won 1-0 thanks to Mickey Lewis. Brother was in the Watford youth team at the time and got us tickets in the home seats. Of course Dad and I were up on our feet when Mad Dog slotted the ball home. A lot of stern looks, good job the Watford lot were pretty friendly really.
Wonder if they still make away fans do the allotment walk...I was on the home terrace that day, late out the pub and couldn't be added to walk round the allotments. Went ape when Mickey scored at that end
Interesting use of the word "treated" there. Amazing how that word can easily be interchanged with the word "subjected'... ?Wolves away around 1998. It was Boxing Day. My old man got free tickets through his work. Bloke who took us even treated us to a harvester on the way home! We lost 3-1 I think.
Harvester was considered quite high brow back then!Interesting use of the word "treated" there. Amazing how that word can easily be interchanged with the word "subjected'... ?
You mean it’s not now?Harvester was considered quite high brow back then!
Only a couple, away at QPR first match of the season in old D2, can't remember when that was, 90s, I guess because I was with a mate who supported QPR. Southampton away in cup (league I think) because I lived down there. Both times I could openly support Oxford without any trouble, but wouldn't try that at Millwall.
The Old Den was my first away ground, 1983/4 season, we lost 2-1. Had never seen anything like it, most hostile place I've been to.Ah, the Old Den. Interesting would be a fair way to describe it and my only visit was when we won midweek 2-1 in November 1990 and it was cold! Steve Foster and Martin Foyle scored our goals.
