Read this morning that there's a stalemate between Nottingham Forest and Nottingham City Council over an increase in rent for the City Ground. Forest supposedly threatening to leave and build a new stadium elsewhere.

The most shocking part of it all is that the rent was just £250,000 a year, now increasing to £1m.

£1m a year for a stadium like the City Ground seems like pretty good value to me, especially for a Premier League team. Seems baffling that Forest are threatening to leave over it.

Nottingham City Council are financially shagged.......... surprised its only gone up to £1m which Forest can comfortably afford.

Their owner is a bit of a "character" who happily issues ultimatums!

It's mental... £1million isn't unreasonable at all. Just makes the owner look like he doesn't give a s*** about the people of Nottingham!

Forest have been docked 4 points for overspending. Oh, and they are looking to further take the pee by appealing the decision. But then the pathetically weak willed Independent Appeal Committee have made it inevitable with the Everton decision so they'll probably get a couple of points taken off the initial decision.

Also, probably sets up Everton only getting 4 points deducted so will total 10 points for 2 breaches even though the rule is for 10 points for each breach. And of course Everton will appeal and that'll get reduced to 2 points or something like that.

Either make it a non-negotiable 10 points per breach with no get out clauses or just abandon the rule altogether because as it is; it is utterly pointless.

Since promotion in 2022, Forest have signed 42 players at a cost of about £250 million.
Sustainable and fair, aye right!
Yet they refuse to pay the council £1million a year for a 30k+ stadium in prime location.

Go figure!

Their Chief Finance Officer apparently warned them they were close to breaching the PSR limits but the owners/other senior officers ignored this and signed a load of players afterwards anyway. Which makes it only being 4 points even more of a joke considering they made a conscious decision to break the PSR rule.

I hope the PL appeal saying It is too lenient.

At the heart of it they knew the rules in advance, and only objected when they got caught out. The fact that the spending rules are weighted toward the teams that have been in the PL for the entire 3 year period, with teams that were in the EFL for any of that time, and not in receipt of parachute payments, restricted in the amount they can spend. For Everton they had a spending limit of £105m, Forest only had a spending limit of £61m - if they had the same 3 year limit they wouldn't have breached it.
