It shouldn't hurt you too much, Scotchegg. After all, Manorlounger used "may not" rather than "are not" and even if you're actually and definitely not his favourite poster, you could be his second or third favourite.
Look, it's like this, if you really hurt his feelings he can get really verbose and you don't want that. Far better that you assuage his ego, just a little bit, and then all is calm. Ok?

I know the club are working with what they can. But not getting Stratford Brake is a massive backwards step.

No extra amenities, bars, restaurants, entertainment etc.

People will have to meet in the City Centre and travel to the stadium.

On the recent questionnaire, they asked what extras would you like to see. Have any of them made the pland?
You will be amazed at the variety, and quality, of what can be provided by way of pre and post match venues in the new stadium. It will be absolutely nothing like the current shithole.

The one where he admitted to stalking me on Linkedin and enquiring into the electoral roll where I live. Yes very interesting admission from Mr Middleton there.

Mr Middleton has doubled down on this tonight and has admitted to sharing information. He's being called out as being a bully by other posters.

I've taken screenshots of the entire thread and will post in the morning!

Please keep the screenshots private, protect the evidence.

I think now would be a great time for the club to finally unveil what the stadium will actually look like. If people could see the design it will allay a lot of fears and disappointment. A 16k modern stadium can still look very impressive!

I found the following article quite interesting

I’d quite fancy multiple different eateries dotted around in the concourse each specialising in one specific food group like they do in America, oh and also make it so you can walk all the way around the home stand through the concourse also. I’m thinking the east stand (Beachump Stand) could have hot dogs and nachos, the north could have Burgers and Pies, whilst the south could have Wings and Tacos for example

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here yet but congratulations to @DannyW for successful unseating Dorothy Walker in the KPC election!

It will be great to have a fellow OUFC supporter on the inside to see just what is going on there, and to hopefully sway some opinions in favour.
Excellent

Well done Danny, if the club had people who are as committed as you we would be in the top tier by now 😀

But then if these people don’t come now, why should they be rewarded by coming when we are successful. Should be the supporters through thick and thin who are giving preference and they will be. If you can’t get a ticket after that then it’s tough really. Should encourage people to buy and renew season tickets and lock in that revenue from the start if anything. Easier to budget that way.

Ah, a local stadium for local people.

Could get FoSB on board with that tbf.

Glad to hear this @Colin B if we had a choice of eateries/drinks venues and maybe a Supporters Club many of us would arrive much earlier knowing anything we spend goes back into the club.
This will also help with congestion if people arrive earlier. At the moment I have to drive in and get parked and really don’t want to pay high prices for drinks and food in the stadium which isn’t exactly fan friendly and as Colin says a shithole. So I get to the ground with 15 minutes to spare.I would much rather meet up with friends an hour or two before the game and make an event of it.

pop along to the 'bird pre match @The mighty Aldo I'll buy you a pint

My initial thoughts are that a well designed, compact, 16k capacity stadium that we can call our own is a bloody marvellous proposal.

I am pretty damn sure that our owners aren’t idiots and that the design of the ground will provide the option to increase the capacity if and when we gloriously establish ourselves as a premier league club and are regularly turning huge numbers of fans away on match day.

With some of the negativity around a 16k stadium I thought it would be helpful to look at some similar builds from around the world. Fair to say I'd be happy with most, if not all of these.

Admittedly some are slightly smaller, or bigger than 16k!

Stozice Stadium, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Bulgarian Army Stadium, CSKA Sofia

Stadion Miejski w Katowicach, Poland

Planned new Luton Town Stadium

Venezia, Italy

Zurich, Switzerland

As a long-distance fan and a regular car user I appreciate the ability to drive up to the current ground and watch a game before my 2.5 hour drive home. It would be very difficult for me to use public transport to Minchery Farm and get home again (especially on a weeknight) as trains and buses from Cambridge via London are prohibitively slow and more expensive.
With SB I'm assuming I would be able to drive to one of the P&Rs or Oxford Parkway and gain access from there?
My decision to come to games can often be last-minute due to work commitments etc so booking public transport is rarely an option, I certainly would not try and park in Kidlington or on a random grass verge but I would like to know there are options for fans in my position. Could there by match-day train links from further afield, say Bicester?
From where you live I’d drive to Bletchley or Winslow and get on the new East West railway which will be open by then. Straight into the Parkway, no sweat on parking and much, much quicker by train than your last leg of the journey driving. Let the train take the strain as they say.
I’m getting on at the new Winslow station as I only live 10 minutes away. Will cycle there or get Mrs YM to taxi me on beer days.

I read all of it last night, apart from the posts that had already been deleted, and all I could think was, WOW, this time he's really shot himself in the foot, and I can't see him wriggling out of it.

Such is the weird nature of Nextdoor's layout, I posted a brief comment on the thread, with the sole aim being that I would then get alerts every time someone added to the thread. It was late, so I then went to bed. This morning I was surprised that there were no alerts, so I went onto Nextdoor to see how things had developed. Unless I'm mistaken the whole thread seems to have disappeared? It is a crap site, so I could be mistaken, but there is only one person (or group of people) who would want that thread deleted, and if they've managed to do so I'm very glad that you have it all screenshot, as I think the person who's GDPR protected information was posted by Middleton will be going legal with this.
