International News Covid-19 .....

Are all the NHS back office/managers who have never seen a patient in their life all getting their boosters ready for winter, as with the first shots? (I know this isn't you btw)

Yep, the "company policy" is that all staff get a booster although it is aimed at patient-facing first. 62% of our nursing staff are already boosted.
Mrs EYMkII went for hers yesterday and got her flu jab in the other arm - efficient and beneficial as we get more money if we hit the staff vaccination targets.
I`m in at 10.10am and will report back!

I managed to get my flu jab when I popped into my local chemist last week, due to get my booster next month and having had bad side effects (inc hospital visit) from the first 2 AZ jabs then having two jabs sloshing around my system at the same time didn’t sound too appealing to me! All safe to get both together I know and I’ve also got to queue in some time a pneumonia jab now I’ve reached the lofty 65 barrier. 😳

How on earth can that be justified? If I was a teacher etc I'd be fuming. Understand leftovers etc going to nearest but no reason why Accounts Assistant WFH David Smith, 29, should be front of queue.

If all the accounts department catch covid, how can the NHS buy anything?

(Disengage mischievous mode)........

You should have Pfizer as a booster if you've had AZ already. AZ should only be given if no alternative.

We are both over 50 for starters. I work in Pathology & Clinical Trials and she is Head of Research Operations so if we aren`t at work....... 🤷‍♀️
The booster programme is following the same path as the vaccination one and you have to have a suitable gap between last vaccine & booster.
I had my vaccine (single shot trial) in December 2020, MrsEYMkII was on the same trial but got placebo so received her Pfizer jabs fairly early on as well.
The outcome being we are both due our booster at the same time.

Not bad for a thick brexit voting Tory Essex! ;)
