Away Match Day Thread +++ 19/02/2019 Accrington v OUFC Match Day Thread +++

So where was Dickie? Or even Sam Long? Mous at the back doesn’t work and we need him in midfield

We score enough goals, the greater problems are at the back

Well three more days until we can ‘celebrate’ Tiger being here one year. I wonder how he’ll mark the anniversary? A big speech about the successful first year, everything’s on track, stick with us etc etc..? I bet we won’t hear a peep from him..

I think it should be about season ticket sales for next season, and promotion to
The Premiershite.

Back in my hotel in Accrington and not happy,

Joke of a starting line up. Mousinho has already been tried and tested and completely failed as a central defender, he is not strong enough and fails to win any headers. Hanson's positioning as a right back is pathetic he has some qualities he can bring in that position but we are always going to ship goals when he is there. Carruthers the best centre mid in the division? Erm. Sykes did OK but this is not the time to blood a kid on debut.

What has really got me is Jordan Graham. Sensational for 4 weeks playing on the left. Robinson plays him on the right. First half completely ineffective except once when for 1 minute he went on the left and put in a decent cross which someone should have had a shot on target from. He was quickly shuffled back to the right. Second half played on the right, then got moved to the left for almost 10 minutes had his defender on toast and looked like he was going to create, then our wonderful manager must have noticed he was doing too well there so brought Garbutt on the left and Graham moved back to the right where he was nowhere near as good. OK Garbutt scored but this was overall a huge tactical error.

Overall a pathetic defensive display. We got loads of good crosses into the box second half but not enough bodies in the box to convert chances and how Mackie missed his header at 1-0....

Accrington - how this club were allowed in the league with that stadium I don't know. If an evacuation was ever needed there it would be a disaster. Made worse by the escape route behind the away end more or less blocked by the netting from the goals used in the warm up that were dumped there.

We dont score enough goals. Mackie again missed a sitter. Brown and graham missed good chances. I would go back to basics and play for 0-0 against the s**t teams. We play way too open and dont have a good enough striker(s) to warrant two wingers.

Have to say, KR so defensive tonight I think he may have his job on the line.

If tiger has the ability to appoint someone competent we will see.

The certainty is that the team assembled isn’t cheap...which player has improved under KR coaching/management?

Plenty of good managers out of work that would be a big upgrade on KR....hurst, bowyer, Grayson, Appleton, clarke

I'm so disolussioned tonight, angry, upset.
Accrington had 3 badly defended headers and a poor piece of goal keeping, resulting in 4 goals.
4-2 is a drubbing in any ones books. Then to hear kr explain it all away by saying we'll keep doing the same thing, we're down..
Malcolm Shotton was so embarrassed to have to answer the question of what he thought of the current situation, following the interview.
Please no more justification of there's nothing we can do to get rid of him from the regular wets on here.
One thing i learned tonight though, direct from a senior player is that many of players are just as fed up to the back teeth of the manager as any fan is.

We scored two tonight and have scored more than Blackpool

Yep back to basics. The wingers are great but they have little in the box to aim their crosses at. The solution is 4:4:2. Two wingers with two from Mous/Carruthers/Brannigan/Henry in midfield. Mackie and Sinclair up front or even Browne.

Sykes a revelation.... atrocious defending yet again ........our 2 goals from defenders? Who is Who if anyone are the specialist coaches at OUFC?

Sunmmed up perfectly half time. All of the outfield subs came out and not one coach came out qitg them

Careful now. You’ll get in trouble suggesting that it’s possible he in fact isn’t brilliant AND loved by all of the players.

Individually we have “some” decent players, collectively we are a shambles, which means the “thing” that joins it together is not working, so it’s now or never to get rid of Robinson and his crony Derry.

Ok we might be doomed, but we need to have a chance and right now we don’t have anything to give us hope.

I hate it when we lose but something has to change right now, not Friday, not Saturday, RIGHT NOW.
The problem Big Al the decent players will all be gone at the end of the season them what?

Why bother going on about KR going - simply ain't gonna happen - firstly as our chairman clearly knows f a about the game and secondly as he can't even pay Firoka and HMRC how is he gonna pay KR et al off and bring somebody else in
W
Hello f we keep at least t someone close to the Thai idiot that Robinson has fucked us up and we’re going down with at least a 1000 missing from the attendance next season

Just got back from Accrington, terrible road conditions, nearly as atrocious as our display. Two headed Accy goals by the two shortest players on their team, the 3rd goal stemmed from a totally unguarded right wing. As previously mentioned, the one redeeming feature in my eyes was Sykes, showed great skill at times and with the ability to beat a man. One run through from his own half was quite dazzling
.

21 pages.... I don't know the scare, but 21 pages suggest a defeat!!!!

I'll start on page 6 and follow the threads... I might skip the Bazzer and Old Kip posts.

Put lots of balls into the box and no-one attacking them. We don’t have a target man, Sinclair isn’t that player. At 3-1 I would hand out Smith on instead of Sinclair to look at him.

I like Sykes tonight, likes getting forward and opened up play well, doesn’t do he defensive duties as much, so him Brannagan and Curruthers didn’t quite work.

We need wins, on this showing we won’t get them. Depressing!!
