More goals maybe? Goals that win games maybe? Ah yes and Bodin is another ‘back soon’ injury. I’d rather have as many bases covered especially if we have the budget than have end of season regret by not filling in key positions. O’Donkor is conference level at best as it is and two of our strikers are currently injured. As it stands we are going into Saturday with one fit striker outside of GOD and that’s it.

Nobody said bedtime on here, so they must be wrong.

Wasn’t your original point though was it? You were saying that O Donkor was going to have to play and I was pointing out that’s unlikely.
No, I simply said he’ll have to step it up. He’ll likely be our second striker on Saturday and when he does play he will have to do more than what he has done this season with his jogging and air shots. If you read any more into that around the houses then that’s your mistake.

Well Goodwin is back for Blackpool, he won’t start against Reading so it’s going to be a very brief chance to step it up.

He will be third striker shortly. He could still be sent on.loan ( Bodin could be third choice)
He was far better on Tuesday- gave the Pompey CBs some uncomfortable times.

We have had one centre forward all season and O Donkor has barely played, I can’t see how adding a centre forward will do anything but reduce those minutes to next to nothing. Bodin is back soon and is more likely to play up front than O Donkor when he is fit.
Bodin will be back soon...that was said a few games ago!

Great day for the club. My excitement for the rest of the season has been re-ignited. Full house for a pulsating local Derby to kick things off then heading in to the business end of the season with the weather gradually warming up. Can’t wait for it - let’s all get behind Des and the boys!

Matete has been out for 6 months with a knee injury which required surgery on his cartilage, not featured at all this season, so I’m reserving judgement on this one for now until we know he’s 100%. If he’s fully fit and can get back to his Plymouth form then great.

Would have loved another striker as well, we are still much lighter than most play off rivals in that area, which is still a concern

Well, we go in to the second half a striker short, who needs goals in a promotion challenge right.

7 out of ten to be fair. Well done to those involved.
So we have managed to be 6th after 29 games with just 1 main striker, have brought in a 2nd striker with GOD and Bodin still in the wings plus some other excellent signings and yet you still manage to come across as negative. Fair play, that is a skill.

How are your sources getting on? Still feeding you false rumours? 😂

He’s still had a good season in terms of goals. Not so sure the eye injury would cause him to hit the bar from thirty yards out a few times when otherwise he might have scored.
I'm not saying it's had a lasting impact, however I just think he's 5% off of what he had previously been. Still an undoubtedly stellar player, who is always entirely committed to the cause and has been out core driving force since he first donned the yellow shirt.

Missed that, not up to it at this level and shows no sign of getting there.

Jay Matete is a bit of a wonder signing for me, exactly what we've needed all season. Will compliment Bran and Mcguane perfectly and opens up so many possibilities. 3 in a diamond or in a 2 allowing Brannagan the creative freedom he thrives on. Ruben will also now hopefully get a chance for a rest and take some pressure off him to find his form. Two very astute league one experienced signings today. From what i've seen of Dale he's in the Alex MacDonald mould of while not the quickest he's a fit and gritty winger who will chip in with goals also. Cumming is hopefully okay and looks promising aside from a shaky game in a horrible game for weather having not played for 6 months. Burey looking good the last few games with the pace and directness that will win games and Edwards who will hopefully be back in time to see us into the playoffs who I believe on his day is one of the best wingers in the division and Goodwin while maybe a gamble is a good foil for Harris and a different type of striker who suits our style with his apparent nack for pressing.

All in all 8/10 window for me and I don't see much room for criticism to Des and the recruitment team.

In fairness, AC Milan won the league in 93/94 scoring only 36 goals... We've surpassed that already!;)
