So where does that leave our first choice midfield now, out of interest. Ruben wide now? A nice problem to have, I admit.
Hope not. Cam alongside Ruben in the middle, McGuane cover or when one of them needs a rest or if form dips. Beginning to feel like a balanced team.

Who, O Donkor? Had a bit better 10 minute spell on Tuesday night.

He will probably go on loan still, you can go to non league clubs for a while longer.
Yep. I’m not saying he’s the be all and end all but if we end up with him as third choice behind Goodwin and Harris then given the other signings I think we are very decent

So if that’s it for the day our window dealings are;

Cumming - Replacement for Beadle, would have been nearly impossible to get someone better than JB but capable enough replacement

Bennett - Much needed cover at LB, solid signing

Matete - Another midfield option, comes with big pedigree and maybe first dibs on him in the summer

Edwards - Like Matete, but we already know how good he can be….

Dale - Match fit, athletic and great L1 experience

Burey - Raw but electric, definitely adds some much needed pace

Goodwin - Big, mobile unit with an impressive strike rate for a poor team

January isn’t the window for an overhaul and the options are limited, but that’s a very very good haul we’ve had there, credit to Des and the recruitment team.

Matete is going to be furious when he realises that Buckingham isn’t just the kit man. He never would’ve signed if he’d known that was his new manager. Apparently he hates the Indian league and thinks anyone who hasn’t played away at Preston at least once isn’t to be respected.

Agreeing the s**t out of this post. We need an emoji for that.

I would be disappointed if he doesn’t go out on loan, he needs to get some games not stay here and probably not even get on the bench. He isn’t progressing at all, we don’t have a reserve team and he can’t play for the under age sides so him staying here to get the odd minutes at best isn’t going to help.
