Plenty on here don’t want Marriott - look back at the summer window thread to see that. Would have been a great signing in the summer window and a just as good one in this window.
Not wanting Marriott for £500k is not the same as not wanting Marriott at all.

In the summer Fleetwood didn’t want to sell, and we didn’t want to buy him at that price. But now Marriott wants to leave and Fleetwood need the funds, meaning he’s available for a lot less.

We could be bringing in Goodwin and Marriott in January for the same price as Marriott would have been in the summer. That for me is smarter business than throwing money around to sign an additional striker at all costs in the summer window.

Fosu was due to sign back in late Nov/early Dec - it was mooted at the club before Manning left and took a while to get over the line for whatever reason, he then picked up an injury and still isn't fully fit.

Surely when he got injured we would have had that contract straight under his nose with a pen ready? Can’t believe we turned down the opportunity to sign an injured winger.

Has to be nailed on our last two signings with be loanees - has been a lot of talk about waiting for the chips to fall, so would make sense it's part dependent on other squads finalising what they have.

From my understanding we can have five in a match squad, and currently we have three in Cumming, Stevens and Burey.

We should have 3 signings coming in, I’d imagine that Marriott will be a perm. We need then 2 loan signings to make use of the spaces we have available. If we don’t use both then that is stupidity to rival even Robinson’s level of recruitment towards the end

The loan signings wouldn't be free? We may have used our money already

Oh don’t worry I’m no more satisfied with the timing of it all than you are but we are where we are. Taking the positives there’s a lot of fuss around him so it could be a decent addition and Posh have an eye for a good winger so that’s encouraging. But we’ve lost a number of points waiting for these arrivals (probably more tonight) where we could’ve been much more competitive and that’s hard to take as a supporter, no doubt. The noise reaching the forum about the haplessness of the club behind the scenes is frankly depressing. It’s nothing we didn’t know but without the Manning/Hogg smokescreen it’s now fully exposed again and feels like a return to last January where we were pleading for change. I’m just hopeful we can get something respectable out of the window and tonight’s game to restore a bit of confidence that we aren’t in total free fall.
Totally agree

What might attract Brentford to loan us Olakigbe is that he'd be linking up with Fin Stevens on the right, assuming both are on the pitch at the same time of course. Plus the fact that we've given Stevens plenty of game time (more out of necessity than anything else) and Olakigbe would also get plenty of minutes given we have no other fit right wingers.

Is Marriott really the answer?! I really don’t think he is, he’ll want a nice healthy contract, and demand a reasonable fee, and as we found out with Taylor, players in their twilight can go from great to ordinary in a very short space of time

If it’s a loan till the end of the season then it’s perfect.

I liked Fosu and wouldn't mind him resigning if he's fit (could be a backup option after the window shuts), but think he only really played on the left with us. That being said, I think he ended up playing mostly at RWB for Brentford?
