I wonder if Harris has come into form because of the transfer window opening? Previously he’s known he’s going to play most weeks because of the lack of competition.

Exactly, today has shown again what Harris is about, that's 3 in 2 now in the league as well as a goal away at Coventry who battered Leicester today.

No one's saying that we don't need some more reinforcements as backup in case he gets injured but there was a huge overreaction to a few games without a goal.

Few games ? About 3 months you mean.

I always liked Harris, happy he is scoring and happy to have him here, but f**k me if people haven’t been infected by the B*****s Robinson used to chat. You can have more than one centre forward, all successful teams do, you can play two up top, rotate, have cover when one is injured and actually have a centre forward to come on.

Our current second centre forward is a 19 year old with two tap in goals to his name in his career, who hasn’t scored in nearly a year, has barely played this season and who the jury is even out on if he will even make it as a pro footballer and is in desperate need of a loan lower down the pyramid to get a chance at that. I think it’s an easy win to improve are centre forwards.

Even the lunatic who thinks 14th placed Charlton are going to walk the league can see we need another forward in.

I'd like Harris to play in a front 2 with someone like Ladapo, who is strong, can hold the ball up and chip in with goals. I hate to say, not so much of a hold up player, but Harris and Sam Smith together would cause havoc with their work rate and doggedness. We're unlikely to play 2 up, and very unlikely to get either of those players, but one can dream.

Everybody on here thinks that we need at least 1 striker

Yes players choose not to score when they have chances because they know they're under no pressure
all I’m saying is that while you can’t deny the effort he’s putting in (out of form was poor choice of words by me), it might have helped him focus more on the chances he gets because otherwise he will be replaced. You can’t deny he’s missed some sitters.

I don’t think Harris goal contribution is particularly bad, it’s just that we don’t have another centre forward in the squad to share the goals out. People go on about sharing the goals out amongst the squad, but with most clubs that means a chunk taken up by 2/3/4 centre forwards, with us that means hoping the reserve goalie can contribute.

I put it down it down to the nonsense spoken by Robinson about no other forwards wanting to come here because Taylor was here, which was always B*****s to hide the fact he was a lazy manager, you don’t get to a centre forward at professional level if you don’t have the confidence to back yourself.

i think he's a bit more relaxed- getting sent off at Port vale after some dark arts by their defender upset his confidence and his luck's changed. What's not psychological is reversion to the mean

Has any transfer gossip come to light after the post match interviews today?

I see Jake Young wasn't

Also most successful teams have reliable goalscorers from all over which we don't. Cam usually is but I'm not sure he's scored from open play this season? Goodrham is productive but Murphy doesn't score, Browne doesn't get many when he's even fit, Mills was decent but not a goalscorer, McGuane and McEachran you can forget about. Sharing the goals only works if you've got a few players you'd be confident before a season started saying "if that guy plays 40 games or so they'll get double figures" which we don't have at the moment.

He said that in the Friday meeting before saying how strong Ipswich were and that they had about six strikers. Can only be one or the other. Absolute clown and I think you're right in that some people are still in the mindset that he cultivated here, see the people incredulous that we could be looking for a better left back than Brown or immediately improving on Eastwood or even claiming we had too many defenders pre season.

We've got 3 players with 7 goals (Brannagan Bodin and Harris)

2 with 6 (Rodrigues and Goodrham)

1 with 5 (Leigh)

seems reasonable that at least 4 of them will get into double figures

No sign of Harry Leonard yet ,come on my boy your needed .

Started for Blackburn today in their 4-1 defeat at West Brom.

He won’t be coming here until Blackburn have got replacement striker/s in the building . Doesn’t mean to say it won’t happen, but we’re at the mercy of the domino gods.

Well 8 players here with over 10 goals at about halfway through the season.
So a third of the teams managed to do it

If we use that method then Mark Harris is on track to hit the mythical 20 too!
