I thought we would of drawn today but to get a 3-0 win against a good team like Doncaster is a statement of intent.

I’m not sure what more the team can do to get fans to turn up! Another poor attendance for a team in this sort of form.

Another point is how much better on the ball Dickie is - compared to their CBs who at times treated the ball like a live hand grenade, he looks calm and composed on the ball and much different from last season. Having 10 outfield players who are comfortable on the ball makes us a hard team to play against. We aren't afraid to play football.
Rob Dickie has come on leaps and bounds since coming to Oxford.
I would not be amazed if he plays in the PL

It’s amazing the improvement in him from at times last season playing on the left looking nervous and panicky, to the Rolls Royce of a defender we are seeing at the moment. When I’ve seen him play in ‘reserve’ competitions this season he’s been head and shoulders above everyone else

Mousinho has cut out the silly passing and indecision in his area too. Not sure if it’s coaching or benefiting from the absence of the dominant Nelson

The difference is he has people looking for the ball in front of him, giving him options so he doesnt dwell.

Today the fullbacks both hugged the touchline and made themselves available for the ball which gave the CBs good options when you add in Gorrin and/or Brannigan dripping deep in the middle as well

You’ve got to hand it to Robinson for the tactics today. We let them have possession a lot, gave them the flanks and played touch tight in the penalty area. And then hit them hard in transition. Donny really didn’t have a shot.

Mackie is extraordinarily energetic for someone in the twilight of his career. He reduced Daniels to a gibbering wreck by the end.

Sykes has real ability with his dribbling skills and delivers accurate crosses, the guy should be starting every week.

Defence is very impressive; both centre backs have good feet and start attacks intelligently.

The good people of Oxon should be out in force to support our hard working, hard running, skilful teams. Thought the crowd was more than 6,800 to be honest though.

Donny outclassed, see us as promotion candidates on that showing.

COYY.

I thought last season Doncaster were a decent team with a very good striker (Marquis). This season the are just a decent enough team. We only the other hand look a very good side. Playoffs surely have to be the aim now.

There was not that much between the 2 sides, they put in some cracking crosses especially from the left but nobody got on the end of them (sound familiar) had they of scored with that chance at the start of the 2nd half it could have been a very different game. Going down the other end and getting a 2nd was perfect timing as they were clearly fired up to have a go.
Brannagan was miles above anyone else out there and if our owners are ambitious they need to resist incoming offers, the rest of the season could be exciting if the side is not broken up come January.

When you can follow a team in a multitude of ways now a days, maybe going to a game is the most expensive and not the best option for some.

Best Oxford team for quite a while. Definitely play off potential but I'm sure KR will be reminding them that there's plenty of work to do to get there: several teams immediately below us have 2 games in hand. But we need not fear anyone on current form.

I understand your point but ticket prices haven't changed this season. Season tickets are cheaper as well.

At the same time last season we hadn't won for 8 games, only picking up 2 points in those 8 games and we had Plymouth at home and got a home crowd of 6047.
This time we had lost 1 game in 8. Scored 21 goals, won 4 and only conceded 6 goals. Yet we only mustered 6370 home fans yesterday. Only 323 more fans is poor IMO. Fans go on about want the club to progress and have ambitions of getting to the championship but if that is going to happen everyone needs to get together as one to help achieve that.

You'd think during the international break you would get a few more curious PL fans wanting to see some action on a weekend.

Maybe the focus on it being non-league day drew them elsewhere, but I've been stuck at work on Saturdays, desperate to try and find a window to get to see us in full flow!

How many Plymouth were at that game? I would hazard a guess more than Donny brought yesterday.

I think the problem with our attendance is it’s getting more expensive to live and people just don’t have the spare funds to go to footie a lot of people love hand to mouth and if they have a choice feed the kids or buy a football ticket kids and family gotta come 1st doesn’t mean there not REAL fans just times are hard for some people
