He chose not to did he? What a ridiculous thing to say.

We were after Marriott all window. I reckon we would be atleast 4 points better off if we had signed him, last week he would of took one of the chances first half and he would of buried atleast one of the chances today that fell to Harris.

No more excuses go and sign a proven striker !

Stevens Moore Brown Leigh
Mcguane brannagan Rodrigues
Mills Bodin Goodrham

Beadle in goal

We weren't anywhere near as good as we can be still but that was better today, we created a bit more than we had been and Wycombe has nothing, although they were incredibly average.

I thought Harris had a much better game today and actually caused a few issues as well as linking play better tha he has recently, however unless those parts of your game are exceptional, and they aren't, it doesn't offset the lack of goals. The chance in the first half his first two touches were poor and he narrowed the angle on himself, giving him nowhere to go. Second half he has to do better from the ball Leigh put across. He just doesn't look a goalscorer, although I would have fancied his chances in the first half if allowed to play on.

Agree with the opinion McGuane wasn't on it today, although he was slightly hamstrung by getting that yellow card early doors. I don't want to see him trying to call his own free kicks like today after about 5 minutes, it was a pretty blatant foul but you can't just stop.

Rodrigues took his goal nicely but was slow releasing the ball at times again and has a tendancy to play a ball that's never on and give away possession.

Long, Jesus Christ. Plenty of people have been saying for some time he's the weak link and it's getting more obvious by the week he's being targeted. He needs a run out of the team, especially if we continue with 3 at the back, Negru has to come in for him. If we go to a back 4 then Stevens offers more on the ball, although he was quiet again today and doesn't seem to have a best position, he's certainly nowhere near as impactful as Leigh on the other side although playing with Long behind won't be helping.

Hopefully we can stay in and around the playoff picture until January and strengthen pretty quick fast. A new striker and right back are top of the agenda, another midfielder as well would be great because for all McEachran is tidy on the ball he's a bigger step down from Cam.

You’ve just proved my point….

I may be going against the grain but would like to see Murphy have a start. Last two games he has come on far too late.

He came on in the 64th minute at Wigan. So thirty minutes on the pitch, and I don't remember him doing anything at all. Honestly, other than missing a sitter against Rovers, I don't remember him doing much of anything for a couple of months now.

I can't see Murphy solving our attacking issues. Edwards and Browne returning and/or the January window are our best bet for that.

Caught some of the game. Sounds like the ref was absolutely f*****g awful for you guys.

Brown and long below standard they didn’t do nothing wrong defended well all game they didn’t have a sniff If them penalties didn’t happen, can tell your ball knowledge with saying Harris was good 😭
Wasn't it long who passed to their player under no pressure in the lead up to their 2nd pen?

You make it sound so simple!

As we saw in the summer when the owners were bidding half a million quid for Marriott, it’s not that easy to sign a proven striker if the club they are at don’t want to sell.

I’m sure the club will go back in for Marriott in the new year but they will already be looking at potential players to bring in.

As someone else said, Manning has had just 1 transfer window to turn a whole squad around and it clearly needs a bit of tweeking but surely no one expected it to take just the last summer window to build a complete promotion squad?

I would love to know what the referees assessor, sat in the stand, says in his report on this referees performance today.
Sebastian "it's all about me" Stockbridge.
From minute 1 to minute 103 he was poor, inconsistent, clueless.

3 of the softest penalties you'll ever see, blows up when Harris is clean through and gives the free kick to US, wtf is that about.

The same ref who last season failed to penalise the Bolton keeper who wiped out Kyle Joseph when clean through on goal.

He either
a) hates Oxford
b) is just incompetent
or
c) is both

Truly awful, after the Trevor Kettle award of worst ref in football

Yes. Fair enough.

It is B, he is like that at every game from the stuff I've seen at our games, games on TV and highlights. I never thought I'd say this but he is a worse Ref than Trevor Kettle.

As someone has already mentioned Long gave the ball away needlessly leading to their second penalty. Both Brown and Long were very poor on the ball today and we're barely tested defensively. Brown is a better player than Long but I don't know if he's even at the required level to be a regular for a team aiming for promotion. Long absolutely isn't and most on here are starting to see that now, if a player is targeted every week it's a bit of a giveaway.

Our standards should be significantly higher than doing and middling job defending and then ignoring any weaknesses on the ball, of which there are plenty. One of the reason we struggled last season was because we had 2 full backs incapable of progressing with the ball or moving it quickly and accurately meaning we were either slow building up or just have it away. It's negated slightly by playing them in a 3 but the issue is still there.

Only just managed to get to this thread today. After seeing the highlights and reading the match report.

1. The Wycombe goalie’s kit 😨. Pink is in but pairing it with white shorts. Oy.
2. Mark Harris isn’t very good at finishing 😒.
3. MM is very unlucky with that penalty but it is a pen.
4. Horrendous dive for their second. Nobody was even appealing for it.
5. Fall over in the area and you get a penalty from that ref. Ours at the end was very soft.

When a ref gives three penalties, you have to wonder about their performance. Two of them were very questionable.
