Tickets Reading Away Tickets

May take awhile. One possibility could be if both sides get knocked out of the FA Cup, would leave a vacant date on the weekend of the 2nd round where no league fixtures are scheduled.

Just been looking at midweek and other alternative dates - could be a while depending on cup performance of both clubs

Tuesday 24th October - Wigan Away
Tuesday 31st October - Lincoln Away
Tuesday 7th November - Chelsea U21s Home in EFL Trophy
Tuesday 14th November - Reading play Arsenal U21s in EFL Trophy
Tuesday 21st November - Possible but could be FA Cup R1 replay date
Tuesday 28th November - Bolton Home
Saturday 2nd December - FA Cup Round 2
Tuesday 5th December - EFL Trophy Round of 32 Scheduled
Tuesday 12th December - Possible but could be FA Cup R2 replay date
Tuesday 19th December - FREE
Tuesday 9th January - EFL Trophy Round of 16 Scheduled

Really hope it's not 21 Nov as I'll be away, but looks as if that will likely be it (although given FA Cup 1st Round is 4 November, and it would presumably need to be arranged following the determination of those fixtures, might that leave too little turnaround time to organise such a big fixture? You would imagine TVP would want to know well in advance when the fixture will take place to allocate resources appropriately ). Sat 2 Dec would be ideal, would much rather this was a weekend game than a midweek. Given the congestion of fixtures, it would also be less likely to get pushed to the Sunday you would have thought.

Tuesday 21st November is in the next international break.

League games should take precedence. Reading away could be rescheduled for 7th or 14th November and the trophy game played on 21st as doesn't really matter that it's an international break then. Apart from the premier league team will complain because most of their youth are away playing internationals. The trophy matches are extra games that were put into our already busy season to satisfy the premier league (used to be a straight knock out format). Now these games are f*****g up our schedule.

It’ll either be 21.11 (subject to no FA Cup replays) or 19.12.

It looks like we will be extremely lucky that this game gets rearranged to be played this side of Christmas.......

Given the police resources necessary for any derby game, you really would’ve thought that the EFL would manually remove any such fixtures from international weekends across the pyramid, before they’re released. I can’t understand the point in allowing such big games to be scheduled like that when they know there’s a really good chance of them getting moved.

Given the number of fixtures postponed, it’s high time that the EFL stopped scheduling L1 fixtures for international weekends.

Will TVP allow the game to be scheduled at such short notice, ie after the FA cup first round if neither side has a replay?

But surely 21st November is definitely not an option as it's in another international break?

19th December it is then. I would actually like that date, I start winding down from work for Xmas on the 15th as its both my birthday and that's what Jesus would want me to do so will be up for a few beers and a late night.

If its the closest and only date that works you would think they would of announced that by now though, they can't be waiting to see if both sides get knocked out of the FA Cup to use the second round date surely?

Yet further negative impact of the paintpot trophy by my reckoning...

This season (don't recall it previously being the case) they appear to have spread out the 'matchdays' across multiple midweeks. So whereas us and Reading (and everyone else) could have played all our paintpots on the same days, they are now staggered - further limiting the mutual available midweeks for postponed League games.

It's already happened with our trip to Lincoln. 3 of the other L1 fixtures postponed that day (September 9th) were played the following Tuesday (19th) because none of those 6 clubs had paintpots. We did, Lincoln did - so we fall behind. We could have even played Lincoln tonight had they not have a paintpot game.

Other than this time last week (when there were proper scheduled League fixtures), there's been paintpot trophy games every Tuesday since August 22nd.

Why oh why can't paintpot games all happen on the same midweek? Get it done for everyone. 3 midweeks and the group is done. Instead, by my reckoning, they're doing it over 12 (twelve) midweeks - up to and including the 21st November.

At this point it's like someone at Football League HQ is deliberately trying to cause maximum distruption for a f**king laugh.

I think they could have the paint pot group stage pre season, better level of friendly, I would actually have some interest but the bulk of games would be out of the way.

Isn’t the reason the group games are staggered because the premier league age group teams?
