Keep the same team and continue the winning mentality, Harris can fight his way back into the team.

I couldn't give two hoots about Wycombe, I would say though they're playing away at Pompey. Anything they get from that game is a bonus. It's not likely but you never know, the only point Cheltenham have got so far this season was away at Portsmouth and it's only a few weeks since Wigan battered Bolton 4-0 at their place which is a cautionary tale.

Saying that I'm still incredibly confident about tonight. I'd be tempted to go with the same formation as at the weekend. It can be more attacking than our usual 4231 and the way Leigh got forwards he was basically a winger anyway. You can have someone playing ahead of him but more centrally like Goodrham or Rodrigues and then have Mills on the other side to stretch the play a bit more, especially as Stevens isn't going to be bombing forwards as much. I thought he had a decent game at Stevenage, nothing too flashy but he's often pretty good with the ball in some tight spaces and comfortable playing. I'd be happy to see the same shape as the weekend with Mills coming in on the right and Rodrigues playing as a number 10/winger hybrid on the left to give some space for Leigh to go charging down the line. Plenty of width then and Rodrigues shoudl find himself free quite often. i'd also bring Harris back in up front, as good as Bodin has been.

Even with a few injuries we can still stick a very good team out tonight and a few different formations are available. What a change it's been.

Edit - I left to sort the kids out briefly while posting this and see I've been beaten to the punch regarding Wycombe playing away by a couple of people.

It feels unnatural to be this confident going into a game, but Shrewsbury haven't scored since August.
They have won 3 games, but only against Cheltenham, Fleetwood and Burton, who have only scored 11 goals between them in 29 games.
In fact they haven't scored themselves apart from the games against Cheltenham, Fleetwood and Burton.

Head says 2-0, heart says 5-0.

Not too bothered what Portsmouth do, still early in the season, as long as we win, we're at most 1 point away with a game in hand.
Be good for Bolton and Stevenage to draw though.

A34 problem gonna put people off. Hope their team coach arrives in time!

I probably explained it poorly earlier but I'd like to see something like this. Rodrigues comes more centrally allowing Leigh to bomb forwards, he put in some great crosses on Saturday and I'd also encourage him to get in the box when the ball is on the other side. mills can stay wider on the right, Stevens could even go forwards on the inside. There's potential for plenty of overloads with this and the back 2 should be more than capable of dealing with their attack. I'd go Long and Brown as I think it's handy for the wide centre backs in a 3 to have experience of playing full back.

I wouldn't be surprised if we went back to 4231 and whatever we do we should have enough to win but if nothing else it would be handy to get some more match practice with a different formation. I was quite big on this sort of lineup as soon as we signed Leigh so would like to see it given a go.

Harris returns for Goodrham who drops to the bench. That's the only change as far as I can see

. Subs: Eastwood, Thorniley, McEachran, Goodrham, Mills, Murphy, O’Donkor.

Negru not in the squad

This post prompted me to take a look at how well formed the league tables were on 4th October last year. Surprised me - especially at the top end.

Plymouth were top, Ipswich 2nd, Sheffield Wednesday 3rd. Barnsley, Bolton, Posh were all in the top 7, Pompey were 5th but missed out on the playoffs. FGR and Morecambe were already in the bottom four. Accrington dropped like a stone.
