Has that been officially announced?I see Josh Murphy has been made available for transfer which should mean a deal has been done fir someone else in that position

Loan or perm?I said Leigh a couple of weeks ago but people doubted me as it was my first post. Was ment to happen then but got delayed,
Should be announcement this week
@tatabanya I believe said that whatever left back came in would be a loanLoan or perm?
Definitely get a new one in and keep him around, we need three to cover injuries.A week ago i was firmly in the camp of "we need a new striker, Gatlin should go out on loan" but I am glad we have him about. He has a superb quality at times. So, do we stick with where we are, get a new striker and send him off anyway or get a new striker and keep him around? Worried option 3 is too wasteful in terms of wage and his playtime to be reasonable
Charlton's problem is their manager. Brilliant squad.Yeap. As opposed to the likes of Charlton who will now be scrambling around and desperate to make additions after a poor start - and everyone (including potential selling clubs) knows it.
On that note, I can't overstate how refreshing it is to actually be among the pace setters for a change.
The whole dynamic of the season changes for me. We're already promotion challengers - rather than going into September hoping that we can maybe only now kick-start our season after another poor start and we're already counting the points to the play-off places, let alone automatics.
As an illustration, below is the date by which we've achieved two away League wins in the last 6 seasons:
18/19: 23rd March
19/20: 19th October
20/21: 21st November
21/22: 23rd October
22/23: 15th October
23/24: 19th August
I genuinely can't remember the last time I felt this excited in mid-August. It's nothing short of a revelation.
Totally agree, Gatlin was a beast in that Youth Cup run last year, he treated Premiership academy centre backs like they were rag dolls. But he was skilful and quick with it. Slowly but surely he gets stronger and now League One defenders are beginning to get the treatment. His ability to make a difference is happening and with the players he has around him it is only a matter of time before he starts have more influence on games.A week ago i was firmly in the camp of "we need a new striker, Gatlin should go out on loan" but I am glad we have him about. And what happens if Harris or Gatlin get injured? Or suspended? They can’t play every game and we need another striker/forward desperately badly to ensure competition for places, a different option and squad depthA week ago i was firmly in the camp of "we need a new striker, Gatlin should go out on loan" but I am glad we have him about. Seriously? We are.
You don't get back-to-back away wins against the sides that finished the previous season 7th and 4th respectively unless you are promotion challengers.
Last season two teams had 9 or more points at this stage and they both finished Top 6. In fact, everyone who finished Top 7 had at least 6 points at this stage. If you look at the table after 4 games last season it's comparable with the end of season table, with a few outliers either way.
We no longer hope to be an outlier. We are challenging for promotion this season. If the penny hasn't dropped for you yet, fair enough.
It will soon enough.
Bit of a random one, but a versatile player who can play RW/LW/ST and we may be looking at him with the Non-League Gems partnership + aligns with signings we've made this summer
Seriously?
I am not sure how long you have been watching football, but things can change very quickly and I am not sure that I have ever seen a suggestion of being promotion candidates after 4 league games.
Of course, I am really hoping that we will be top 2/ top 6, but it is incredibly early
Was in the West Ham academy while Manning was the U23 manager.Bit of a random one, but a versatile player who can play RW/LW/ST and we may be looking at him with the Non-League Gems partnership + aligns with signings we've made this summer
Totally agree, but it potentially changes who you go for and the type of striker. There is no correct answer, it's an inspired pick at best and a failed bet at worst. Ideally you need 3 realistic forward options. And what happens if Harris or Gatlin get injured? Or suspended? They can’t play every game and we need another striker/forward desperately badly to ensure competition for places, a different option and squad depth
Would be classic Peterborough.Bit of a random one, but a versatile player who can play RW/LW/ST and we may be looking at him with the Non-League Gems partnership + aligns with signings we've made this summer
Was flogged to Barnet from Peterborough.Would be classic Peterborough.
It's really not that deep.
Candidate:
"a person or thing regarded as suitable for or likely to receive a particular fate, treatment, or position"
Some of our fans really need to grow a f**king pair. Thankfully our players and management have.
Ahh sorry I hadn’t realised it was the same Kanu, we’ll you never knowWas flogged to Barnet from Peterborough.
Sounds like Charlton are having a bit of bad luck. They’re bossing games and have more shots than the opposition, so Saturday we need to be on it.Charlton's problem is their manager. Brilliant squad.
Imagine what they would do if they got Steve Cotterill in!Charlton's problem is their manager. Brilliant squad.
